MK7 Heater Block

This is a replacement heater block that is originally designed to fit the MakerBot MK7 extruder assembly, but is also compatible with the Creality CR-X 2-In-1-Out 3D Printer. And while it has a relatively fancy name, this heater block is essentially a small machined aluminium block, which has been CNC drilled and tapped through to accept the MK7 heat break and MK7 nozzle, as well as CNC drilled holes that accept the a 6x20mm Heater Cartridge as well as 100kΩ 1% NTC thermistor.

The heater cartridge that is installed in this heater block is used to heat up the aluminium to the desired temperature, which in turn heats up the hot end of the heat break and nozzle, allowing for a smooth extrusion of 3D Filaments. The Thermistor then reads and monitor the temperature of the heater block, allowing for accurate closed loop PID control to reach and maintain precision temperatures for optimal 3D Printing.
