The E3D V5 All-Metal Hotend Assembly for 3mm Filament is designed to be used with direct drive 3D Printers, and is the previous iteration of the favourite E3D V6 Hotend Assembly, stocked as an upgrade for extruder systems like the Charlstruder and Titan Extruder Assembly. It is made to handle temperatures up to 300°C by default, and is ideal for Exotic Filaments like Polycarbonate and Metal Fill – which typically require very high temperatures.
The assembly comes equipped with everything you need to get printing immediately, and includes a thermistor, heater cartridge, as well as a 0.4mm nozzle. This makes it a great upgrade kit for an existing printer, and its native compatibility with a wide range of different components ensures that it will never limit your 3D printing options.
Despite being an older model, the E3D V5 Hotend Assembly for 3mm Filament offers all of the features of the new V6 iteration, but is just slightly bigger and heavier. Aside from that, it also offers a well secured thermistor, better temperature accuracy for high temperature filaments, as well as a simple and easy installation process for the heater cartridge.
Pro-Tip: For those of you who are using an all metal hotend and having issues with plastic oozing through the heater-block threads, try heating your hotend up to 270°C and tightening the nozzle with a No. 8 spanner – Just don't get too carried away or you will damage the heatbreak, since it has a very thin 0.3mm stainless steel wall.

We stock the E3D V5 All-Metal Hotend Assembly for 3mm Filament as an upgrade or replacement part for any 3D Printers using the Charlstruder, Titan assembly or other direct drive extruder assemblies. Just remember, however, that it is built for 3mm diameter filament, so if you are looking for a hotend assembly that can cater to 1.75mm filament, consider the E3D V5 Hotend Assembly for 1.75mm, or the newer, more compact E3D V6 Hotend Assembly.
*Note this is not supplied by E3D themselves. It is manufactured to the same specs and quality controlled locally to ensure it functions exactly as expected while saving you money.
