The LM2596 Constant Current / Constant Voltage Buck Regulator Module is a well-designed Electronics Module that is capable of stepping down and regulating DC voltages. It has a surprisingly diverse range of functionality, and in addition to simply stepping down voltages it is capable of charging Lithium Ion batteries, driving LED’s, Testing and Measuring electrical outputs, as well as regulating voltages and current.
One of the best features about these Switch Mode Modules is the way that they are capable of supplying constant current and constant voltage, which is ideal for charging batteries and driving high-current LED units. This is achieved with a dedicated reference IC and high-precision sampling resistor, to ensures optimal stability for safely charging batteries. The constant voltage and current is also adjustable with the onboard W104 and W103 potentiometers, making it ideal for charging various types of batteries of different sizes.

This LM2596 Voltage Buck Regulator Module is primarily used for driving LED units and charging batteries, but can be used for any application requiring constant voltage up to 35V or constant current up to 3A. It features onboard potentiometers for adjusting the voltage and current, and has an impressive efficiency rating of 92%. Just remember that this module is designed to step down and regulate DC voltage only, so be sure to use a PSU rather than connecting it directly to a wall outlet.
