CCTREE is one of the more recent 3D filament manufacturers, who have taken the 3D printing industry by storm by finding the perfect blend of consistent quality polymers and affordability in each spool. This range of CCTREE ABS filament is consistent and easier to print with than most other brands of ABS, and is ideal as a daily filament for almost any 3D printing applications!

Why Choose ABS Filament?

ABS or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a copolymer, essentially a blend or alloy of different plastics. It is one of the most common thermoplastics in use today with robust and cheap characteristics. As a 3D Printer Filament, it's highly versatile and offers better mechanical properties than PLA. It can, however, can be a little more difficult to print with.

Since ABS is a blend of three monomers in variable proportions, the properties can be variable depending on the manufacturer. CCTREE has worked hard to produce a blend that is well-suited to 3D Printing, and only uses quality non-recycled plastic in production. Many other manufactures will include recycled or “regrinded” plastic in their production, which may not be a major issue using plastic injection, but can create bad quality 3D printing filament.

In order to print ABS successfully, a heated bed is suggested with a PEI, BuildTak or Aluminium print surface. Bed temp's are usually in the 70° - 110°C range for good first layer adhesion. ABS also has a higher shrinkage than other plastics like PLA, and as such tends to warp and crack on larger prints. We highly recommend using an enclosed printer to bring the ambient temperature up, which makes printing with ABS Filament much easier for beginners moving up from PLA!

Excellent for the price

Good filament that prints as you expect.

Diameter measured at 1.70mm (+-0.01mm) for my spool, with one or two blobs of ~1.75mm

A minor note about color: The white is slightly yellow, more like a light cream color, and is slightly translucent like wax.

Excellent results

Just ran my first full 1kg of the new CCTree ABS filament today.
Was a few large prints and bed adhesion was perfect, no warping, no layer separation or splits.
A nice smooth consistant finish indicates that the filament diameter is constant, and the colour is good.
Got a few more kg's to run tomorrow and feeling confidant of a repeat result.
Also made a small bottle of ABS glue ( filament + acetone ) and it dissolved as expected and smooth consistancy.

CCTREE is somewhat of a newcomer compared to brands like eSUN and Wanhao, but have certainly made big waves with their cost-effective PLA, ABS and Exotic 3D Printer Filaments.
