Robotics are such fun “toys” for grownups (and kids too!) that let us look at the world from an entirely new and novel view, and rather than simply trusting our human senses to tell us what is real, in Robotics we have to build our own eyes, ears and other peripherals in order to “experience” the world through electrical signals, bouncing light and other elements that our human senses utilise without us even having to thinking about it.

This Servo Pan & Tilt Bracket Kit is one such tool to help little robots experience the world better, and effectively gives almost any little robot, or standalone servo-based project, the ability to tilt and pan their “eyes” so as to view the world from different angles and enjoy seeing more than just what’s directly in front of them. These bracket kits are excellent tools for creating bots like line-following robots or object-identifying robots, as these types of robots often have to “search” for lines of objects to interact with. And in a similar way to driving a car without being able to move your neck, it is certainly possible for robots to perform these activities without tilt and pan, but the task is made much easier if the bot can move the camera to see the world - but without having to rotate, lift or dip its entire body each time.

This servo Pan/Tilt Kit comes disassembled, and features two mounting brackets with all of the necessary screws, nuts and other small parts to fit it all together with a Servo Motor. However, it’s important to note that this bracket kit is designed to fit Standard Size servos, and if you want to use it with a Mini, Micro, Sub-Micro or Nano Servo then you may have to modify or possibly 3D Print extra parts to make it compatible. However, for any standard servos measuring 40mm Long, 20mm Wide and around 36.5mm High, this servo kit will be perfectly compatible with no modification required.
