Pi Supply Bright Pi - Bright White & IR Camera Light Module

When it comes to the various types of Development Boards and platforms available to Makers, we have to admit that it’s not always easy picking the perfect one for the job. However, this is arguably what makes Raspberry Pi so amazing, as it is very diverse, and is capable of performing a very wide range of different functions, from simple data-logging nodes to advanced home automation, and this is why we always welcome modules and Breakout Boards like the Pi Supply Bright Pi, which is a White Light & IR Camera Breakout board that makes Pi photography as easy as… well, Pi.

This awesome little breakout board is designed to fit around or frame a Pi Camera module, and has space for soldering on Bright White and IR LED’s, so that you can take photo’s with reliable white light or during darker hours with the IR lights, with the options for even replacing the white and IR lights with colourful LED’s for fun, thematic or wacky photography too. This makes this module a great choice for standard photography, night-time photography, fun photography in photobooths, as well as many other applications that extend into both professional and hobbyist. Additionally, if you choose to get more than one module, you can simply switch them out as you see fit, with a simple two-point mounting and jumper design to make swapping out modules quick and painless.

Please Note: Because of the tight form factor of this module, we recommend putting a small strip of insulation tape on the back side of the board once the LED’s have been soldered on. This will help prevent any potential short circuits or damage in case the back of the module touches up against whatever might be situated behind it.
