Music is something that everyone in the whole world seems to enjoy in one way or another, whether it’s Mozart or Drake or anyone in between, and is often quite an important aspect of a culture or group of people, allowing us to share, enjoy and relax to the songs and sounds we love most in the world. This is why gets us so excited about cool Pi Accessories like The NanoSound ONE, which is a Raspberry Pi 4 Case with a built in Hi-Fi DAC for audio playback, offering not only a great level of protection and cooling for Raspberry Pi Boards, but also integrated audio functionality for all kinds of fun projects. It does this by including a specialised audio and Mini HDMI breakout board, which takes standard 3.5mm audio jack and translates it into two separate channels while also making sure that the HDMI port is accessible from the outside of the case, allowing you to simply plug in your Amplifier (or small speakers) and visual interface in without having to access the internals of the case.

If you are already quite knowledgeable on what Raspberry Pi Enclosures are available to Makers, you will already have seen the awesome Argon ONE and the more advanced Argon ONE M.2 cases. Well, this NanoSound ONE has been designed in a very similar fashion, but features the included audio capabilities instead of the M.2 breakout, but is also actually compatible with the other cases as well, and you can even swap out the bottom part to include the M.2 breakout if you want, making it surprisingly versatile for what just seems like an Audio-Enabled Pi enclosure. However, while the Audio functionality is certainly the main focus of this enclosure, it also offers quite impressive passive cooling, with thermal pads that couple the high-temp components to the external case, while the handy integrated IR sensor even allows you to control it all via the handy IR remote – or even from your own custom IR setup.

When it comes to producing unique electronics components and modules, there are very few brands that can provide the quality that Waveshare can. Based in the Futian District in Shenzhen, China, Waveshare are experts in developing electronics to a high standard of quality, which have been thoroughly tested to work seamlessly with corresponding development platforms and systems – such as the E-Ink HATs for Raspberry Pi’s.

What we love most about Waveshare is how they are dedicated to providing quality products, and have moved away from the typical “Made in China” stigma – cheap products with cheap parts and components. Instead, Waveshare understand the value of supplying quality products and building sustainable relationships with international resellers and distributors. They know that consistent quality will result in consistent business, and as such they always ensure strict quality control for each and every product that comes out of the manufacturing plant.

We are always excited to peruse through their vast catalogue of exciting new products to find unique modules, components or even entire development boards that are designed with quality in mind. Because we know that every cent that we spend with Waveshare will be well-spent, with each product that order adding real value to our own catalogue of products.
