Due Board - Based on Arduino

This Due Board based on Arduino is the ideal investment for Makers, artists and hobbyists who want to level up their projects with more speed, power and functionality.

This Due Board is based on the Arduino Due, one of the most powerful boards in the Range, and is the ideal solution for Makers, hobbyists, artists and electronics enthusiasts who want to step up their game with a 32bit, 84MHz CortexM3 ARM microcontroller. This powerful clock speed, in conjunction with a wide range of other upgrades and the ability to be backwards-compatible with all of your previous Arduino sketches, makes it a perfect upgrade from any of the previous boards.

Some of the exciting features of the Due Board include 54 digital input/output pins (12 of which are enabled for PWM), 12 analog inputs, 4 UART hardware serial ports, 2 DAC (digital to analog) inputs, a USB-OTG capable connection, 2 TWI buses, a JTAG header, an SPI header, a power jack, a reset button and an erase button – Everything it needs to run not only your previous projects, but an almost infinite number of more advanced and even more exciting projects.

Bear in mind, however, that even though this board has backwards compatibility in terms of firmware and coding, the lower operating voltage of 3.3V DC on the I/O Pins means that it won’t be compatible with previous 5V Shields. This is important to remember, as plugging in a 5V Shield could damage the board. However, with that being said, all of the Shields that already implemented the R3 layout, such as the WiFi Shield and Ethernet Shield, will be compatible with the Due and will cause no problems at all.

Typical Applications for the Due Microcontroller Board Based on Arduino:

The Due Board is certainly a powerful board, and as such offers a lot more versatility since it can be the brains of very complicated projects. And rather than simply building small devices or boxes that essentially automate various tasks like Tweeting, with a Due you will be able to build entire systems.

The following are just a few examples of the exciting projects that a Due is capable of:

  • Designing an RFID building access system, with permanent access granted to residents and temporary access granted to visitors via Wi-Fi.
  • Crafting a voice and keyboard synthesizer that doubles as an electric guitar pedal – providing you with all the tools you need to be the next one-man-synth-band.
  • Building a room-scale “Spaceship Bridge” for playing spaceship simulators like Artemis or Quintet cooperatively with friends – while being immersed in a believable sci-fi environment.

With so much power at its disposal, the Due Board is far more capable than many of the other Arduino Boards available and outclasses them in many ways. So if you are looking to upscale your Arduino projects and are eager for a more powerful board to run your complex systems, the Due is certainly a great investment.

*Note this is not supplied by Arduino themselves. It is, however, manufactured to the same specifications and quality controlled locally to ensure it functions exactly as expected while saving you money.

Our team of engineers, consultants and specialists have years of combined experience within the world of mechanics, robotics, electronics and programming, which allows us to build specialised products targeted at catering to the real needs of our consumers.

We understand that a good product is not only focused on quality, but also on affordability and accessibility, which is why we manufacture our own in-house products that aim to meet the ever-expanding needs of our customers. One such example is the Prusa i3 3D Printer, which we have improved upon numerous times with specialised extruder designs, laser-cut enclosures and even accessories like spool holders – To provide customers with the type of consistent quality that we would like to experience from every brand, both local and international.

Our in-house products also come with the added benefit of ultimate customer support, because nobody knows our products like we do, allowing us to offer the very best in terms of customer support for building, maintaining, repairing or simply enjoying our range of DIYElectronics in-house products.
