Electronic Test Hook

Electronic Test Hooks, also commonly known as E-Z-Hooks, are designed to help with Prototyping and Testing Electronics circuits. They are made to connect to any part of a circuit by grabbing a wire, cable or pin and essentially tapping into the circuit from specific points. This allows Makers to test specific Electronics Components throughout the prototyping phase, and makes the task of finding small problems a lot easier during testing.

They work well with most standard Multimeters, and have two pin holes that perfectly fit typical test lead probes. This forms a connection with the tiny grabbing pins that spring out of the bottom when the unit is compressed, allowing for an easy and safe way to create solid connections to specific parts or components within intricate electronics circuits.

These test hooks come in a variety of colours to make colour coordination easier when testing multiple parts of a circuits or forming temporary connections, although these colours are typically chosen at random when bought individually.

Typical Applications for Electronics Test Hooks:

Electronic Test Hooks are great for testing circuits during prototyping phases, and are most valuable when typical test leads can’t safely reach specific parts. Because of the plastic cover and long reach of these hooks, they can reach farther than standard probes without potentially touching other parts within the system. This is not only safer, but also far easier as you don’t have to take the same kinds of precautions to avoid creating a short circuit unintentionally.
