When building your own projects with arrays of sensors, modules and other Components all working together in unison, it’s easy to get wrapped up in deciding which major parts you want, and to forget about the basics, such as which cables you’re planning on using to connect it all together. Fortunately, wiring options are not quite as diverse as Modules, sensors or even shields, and it should be a relatively easy choice to make once you know what project you are eager to build, although it is still important to get the right cables for whatever applications you are needing them for.

These Analog Sensor Cables are made by DFRobot, and are designed to connect modules like Gravity Sensor Modules to controller boards or Shields like the DFRobot IO Expansion Shield. However, these cables, in comparison to digital Yes/No cables, are capable of identifying variable signal outputs ranging between 0% and 100%, rather than just detecting whether it’s 100% or not. This is vital for some Sensor Modules that offer more than just yes or no signals, allowing for better accuracy in their data signals, and more precision for the controller board or whatever is taking in those data signals.

These analog sensor cables from DFRobot come in packs of 10, and feature two power lines (Red and Black) as well as a blue signal line. They are equipped with a 3-Pin Servo Type connector one end, and a 3-Pin JST connector on the other, and are around 30cm in length, so as to cater to quite a wide range of small to moderate sized projects. If you’re looking for other cable options, however, be sure to check out our DFRobot Digital Sensor Cables too, or simply enjoy perusing through our diverse Connectors & Wiring category to find the ideal cable to cater to your project’s specific needs.

As self-proclaimed “Robo-holics”, DFRobot is a company comprised of over 100 staff members, of which 30% are engineers who love to build robots. It was started in 2008 with the goal of embracing and promoting open-source hardware, with a core focus on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and their very own LattePanda development boards. Since then, DFRobot have manufactured over 1300 unique modules, sensors and components that all work together and complement each other, allowing users like us to enjoy a full spectrum of cutting edge robotics and electronics without having to pay premium prices.

With the primary goal of developing and manufacturing great quality products, while making them accessible to as many people as possible, DFRobot are rapidly becoming one of the most common-place brands in the world of open-source robotics and electronics. With more than 1300 products developed in-house, and an impressive range of different categories and specialisations, there are few brands in the world who can compete in terms of quality, accessibility and genuine innovation.
