As the BigTreeTech brand has been growing stronger and stronger by the year, gaining popularity with each new controller board, display module and other 3D Printer Upgrades that they produce, it’s not surprising that they eventually took the leap and started producing entire 3D Printers, with all of their key upgrades and components stacked together and designed to be perfectly compatible with each other. This BigTreeTech SKR V1.4 Controller for BIQU B1 is one such upgrade that, rather than being an upgrade, is actually a stock component on the BIQU B1 3D Printer, and offers an almost excessive level of power and functionality that very few other motherboards can even compare to.
Although this board is particularly stocked for the BIQU B1, it is built to the SKR V1.4 specification, with the distinct difference of this board being that it has been cleverly colour coded to perfectly match the ports and wiring of the BIQU B1. This, in addition to preinstalled firmware specific to the BIQU B1, makes it an excellent drop-in replacement that is BIQU Original and ready to deliver the power and functionality your 3D Printer needs to keep on producing amazing prints. Of course, as the Makers of both the SKR V1.4 and the BIQU B1, BigTreeTech have ensured perfect compatibility and ready-to-go operations with minimal extra hassle for the end user, and if you ever find yourself in need of a replacement motherboard for your BIQU B1, this unit is the exact one you need in order to swap it out and get straight back to your 3D Printing fun as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Finally, if you are eager to find out more details about all of the different features and nuances of the SKR V1.4, we invite you to take a look at our original BigTreeTech SKR V1.4 Motherboard Page, which is built to extremely similar specifications, but doesn’t include the handy colour coordination that assists with matching the board to the BIQU B1 3D Printer.
Please Note: This board can operate on both the main DC power input as well as USB power, and you need to choose between the power inputs by using a jumper over the 3 onboard pins with the “VDD” & ”USB” labels in order to avoid causing unexpected damage. However, it must be noted that this board cannot actually print from USB power, which means that the USB power select is primarily just for interfacing with the board when setting up or flashing firmware.
Additional Note: It’s important to realise that this board does not come with Stepper Drivers included, so if you don’t have any spare stepper drivers, be sure to check out the stepper driver compatibility of this board below, and then consider getting a few drivers from our dedicated Stepper Driver Category.

Finally, if you’re eager to get a more visual understanding of what’s on this board, as well as how to setup and install this beautiful board in a 3D Printer, the following video by Teaching Tech does an excellent job at explaining the new features compared to the older version, as well as some basics on what other components you might need to get to enjoy the most out of the SKR V1.4. Take careful note of the section relating to stepper drivers, however, as it can get quite complex, and you want to ensure that you can get the drivers that best meet your needs. Bear in mind that this video focuses on the Turbo Version, but don’t worry, as the standard version is exactly the same as the Turbo Version aside from the 120MHz Processor:

Although many people may not quite recognise the name, BIQU is a fantastic brand that originated as BigTreeTech, and began their journey in the 3D Printing world by creating motherboards and other electronics that were made to enhance the functionality, ease of use and overall capabilities of other 3D Printers. However, after gaining a firm popularity as some the leaders in 3D Upgrades, they have also now branched off and created BIQU, a brand dedicated to creating entire 3D Printers for hobbyists like us.
Compared to many of the brands on the market, what we particularly love about BIQU is the way that their models come fully equipped with all of the exciting BigTreeTech controller boards, stepper drivers and other awesome components that are typically installed into other 3D Printers as powerful upgrades. These include the popular SKR motherboards, the BTT TMC Drivers, BTT TFT displays and other minor (but still valuable) upgrades that are often installed on Creality 3D Printers, but since these “upgrades” come stock on BIQU 3D Printers, you can enjoy even more reliable operations and functionality due to the fact that their machines are built specifically with their own boards and components in mind. This has resulted in BIQU creating some of the leading 3D Printers on the market, which don’t need any upgrades or improvements to match the quality of leading brands, and with many of the BIQU models actually surpassing the quality and capabilities of most other Hobbyist 3D Printers on the market.
If you love the idea of upgrading 3D Printers with all kinds of fun and functional upgrades, but aren’t too interested in getting a basic model that you have to actually upgrade yourself, the BIQU range of 3D Printers is the answer, bringing excellent quality coupled with all of the current best features available to 3D Makers.
