If, like us, you’re forever on the lookout for exciting news in the 3D Printing community, you will be interested in the latest Copperhead G2 Hotend Assembly from Slice Engineering. The engineers at Slice Engineering have already astounded us with the arrival of The Mosquito Hotend which is a true masterpiece that delivers premium print quality at amazing speeds due to the unique ultra-low-weight design. However, many Makers who love the premium quality of the Mosquito Hotend, don’t love the premium price tag. Similarly designed for high performance applications, the Copperhead from Slice Engineering is an exciting cost effective DIY solution to upgrade your 3D Printer the way you want for high temperature performance and reduced heat creep.
The Copperhead G2 Heat Sink is one of the three key components that make up the latest Copperhead DIY Hotend, and work in conjunction with The Copperhead Hot Block and Copperhead Standard G2 Heat Break variant. In the Copperhead’s latest G2 version, the Copperhead Standard Heat Breaks have increased in 3mm length to now accommodate raised 3D Printers. This Copperhead G2 Heat sinks have also been adjusted for this reason. However, because of the cool modular style of the Copperhead Hotend, you don’t have to buy all three parts at once, and can instead choose to upgrade specific parts as and when you need to. This makes the premium quality of the Copperhead Hotend far more affordable for average Makers, ensuring the premium print quality and high speeds are accessible for everyone who really wants (or needs) it.
This particular Copperhead Heat Sink features a Groove Mount to accommodate Direct Drive Extruders, allowing you to simply swap out previous Cooling Towers and connect up your direct drive into the top of this unit. However, if you have a Bowden Style extruder, or plan on changing to Bowden during your upgrade process, then be sure to check out the Copperhead G2 Heat Sink Screw Mount variant, which is equipped with a built-in screw mount for quick and easy Bowden connector compatibility.

The Copperhead from Slice Engineering is made up of three main parts – the Heat Sink, Heat Break, and Hot Block – that form a DIY Hotend to upgrade your 3D Printer. Although they were designed together, you are able to buy and install the three parts of the Copperhead one at a time thanks to their versatile compatibility. Even if you have older the G1 Heat Break installed, your new G2 Heat Sink will still be compatible and vice versa.
