As many proud owners of Ender 3 3D Printers will know, there are countless upgrades for the Ender 3 that all add their unique finishing touches to an already great design. However, one upgrade that really stands out from the crowd in terms of user convenience and overall user experience, it’s the BigTreeTech TFT35-E3 V3.0.1 Dual Mode Display for Ender 3. This fantastic control panel is designed to exact same specifications as the original Ender 3 Display, and offers a fair number of features, with the key feature being that it offers dual display modes, with one catering the old-school Marlin-style interface, and the other offering a beautiful full colour touch interface – with the option to switch between them within seconds while the machine is running.

The BTT TFT35-E3 is a 3D Printer Upgrade that brings the Ender 3 into modern times, and not only features the dual display mode, but also offers both SD Card and USB functionality, as well as an onboard slot for optional WiFi capabilities too. This allows Ender 3 owners to finally enjoy using simple USB drives rather than MicroSD cards with various adapters and readers, and when equipped with an ESP-01 module, can even be interfaced over a network or online as well. These features are all complemented by a sleek and stylish design, making it almost as easy as a drop-in replacement part, but offering so much more than almost any other Ender 3 Display replacement could.

Of course, just like the original Ender Series Display, this display is natively compatible with all Creality 3D Printers that utilise the same display design. Moreover, these displays can also be used on a host of other 3D Printers too, as long as you are willing to print your own enclosure for other display panel styles. So if you’ve been eager to get a nice upgrade that gives you more control and enhances your 3D Printing user experience, the BTT TFT35-E3 is a great choice.

Please Note: If you are considering getting this upgrade for a 3D Printer other than an Ender 3, then consider taking a look at the original BigTreeTech TFT35 Display, which is designed slightly differently to accommodate a wider range of 3D Printers, rather than being designed to the Ender 3 control panel specification.

NOT SO DROP IN REPLACEMENT

Even though this is advertised as a replacement screen that offers dual operation with touch screen for the ENDER 3/PRO this is just not the case if you have an all stock Ender 3/Pro mainboard as there is no connection pins on the stock MB to make the touch screen communicate with the printer and will only work in MARLIN mode on the printer.... No reseller of this makes mention of this little fact..
However I am still pleased with it as I was planning on changing to a new main board in future now I just need to do it sooner rather than later.

As one of the rising stars in the world of 3D Printer Component Research and Development, BigTreeTech have certainly hit the ground running, entering the market in 2015 and spending their early stages primarily learning, researching, testing and developing, before producing some truly impressive results. From simple but effective upgrades to standard parts, all the way through to completely custom parts that no other brand offered at the time, BigTreeTech now have an incredibly diverse range, with almost no area of 3D Printing being left out.

Some of BigTreeTech’s most notable additions to the world of 3D Printing include the SKR Motherboard Range for numerous different 3D Printer models, the awesome TFT Touch Display Range with fancy features like dual-mode operation, as well as their very impressive Stepper Driver Range that cater to all tastes and preferences under the sun. And of course, to top it all off, BigTreeTech also have a sister company named BIQU, and we must admit that they have been producing some pretty impressive (and low price) 3D Printers, with the BIQU B1 possibly becoming a new rival to the Ender 3.

Of course, it’s easy to see that BigTreeTech are modern masters of 3D Printing R&D, and while we do still have a lot of different parts that we want to test out from them, so far we’ve been extremely happy with what they’re capable of producing – all while fitting into same kind of hobbyist budget that they used to operate on as Makers and Tinkerers themselves.
