While most of us who are into 3D Printing will be able to appreciate the amazing capabilities of FDM Printers, and how you can print almost anything your heart desires with just a little bit of patience and practice. However, if you really want to start printing “impossible objects”, then DLP / SLA Printing is certainly the way to go, as these machines don’t have to rely on gravity and heated beds, but instead utilize vats of photoreactive resins to create entire layers at a time, allowing for even more complexity in prints while also improving on the already-amazing quality and precision that 3D Printing has become famous for. This is why we love eSUN, who are involved in both FDM and DLP 3D Printing, as they are constantly working on bringing new and distinct polymers to the industry, with their eSUN eResin-PLA Bio-Photopolymer being a great example of this, offering the same great quality you love from eSUN 3D Resins, but in an eco-friendly and biodegradable way.
Although these bottles of eSUN eResin-PLA Bio-Photopolymer may look quite similar to other 3D Resins, eSUN have specially made this resin as a means to provide an eco-friendly, biodegradable alternative to the many chemical-rich options that are available. This, however, doesn’t mean that it’s safe to touch, but what it does mean is that you don’t have to stress about throwing prints directly into the bin, while enjoying the exact same quality and other attributes that you could expect from eSUN Standard Resins. Just remember that it’s still important to utilise those gloves and facemask when working with these resins, since they still do have similar particles that can cause problems after too much exposure, but you can enjoy the fact that your 3D Resin Printing won’t be causing irreparable damage to the environment for your models and designs.
When looking at the aesthetics of this awesome resin, we love the soft and almost biological look of the green, and we’ve had particularly good success with it when printing décor that blends well in semi-outdoor areas. This is because it tends to almost shimmer when exposed to direct sunlight, and this is due to the subtle transparency that it offers, allowing light to subtly penetrate the outer layers, brightening up the colour but still leaving that soft pastel-like appeal. Additionally, we have had a lot of fun in printing night lights with this resin by printing hollow prints and using LED Strips, and while the relatively thick resin blocks a fair amount of light, the soft green glow is perfect for kids (or adults) to enjoy as they slowly fall asleep.

Shenzhen eSUN Industrial Co., Ltd was established in 2002 in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and has rapidly become one of the leading international suppliers of 3D Printing Filament. They specialise in research, development and production of degradable polymer materials, and have grown their catalogue of filaments to include PLA, ABS, PC, PVA, and a wide range of other polymers and copolymers.
Their list of exclusive filament formulas include unique materials like wood, aluminium, bronze and other materials to create highly specialised filaments that can stretch, bend, be moulded or otherwise behave in very unique ways. Their filaments are also commonly characterised by their absolutely round shape, extremely low diameter tolerance, uniform colours and impressively stable melting points. These characteristics, in combination with their long-term insistent policy of “Best Quality, Reasonable Price” has garnered them a large share of the market, with their reputation commonly preceding them within knowledgeable online and offline 3D Printing communities.
eSUN’s popularity in the industry has also helped to produce sustainable partnerships with many internationally famous 3D Printer manufacturers and distributors, with DIYElectronics having sole distributorship rights to provide their 3D Printing Filaments to South Africa and neighbouring African countries.
