Our spools of 1.75mm eSUN eCopper filament are stocked in quantities of 1kg, and are designed with unique properties thanks to the infusion of copper. This results in beautiful, copper-coloured metallic prints that can either be polished to shine or left unpolished for a rugged metal finish. Prints with this filament are also surprisingly heavy compared to standard PLA filaments, and are both sturdy and structurally solid.

Despite being composed of around 70% copper, this filament is not conductive like our Conductive Filaments, allowing you to make strong and heavy parts or models without having to worry about whether they will cause shorts or electrical problems. These features makes this filament very sought after for specific applications, although it is important to remember that it will require specific printing settings, temperatures and speeds to achieve the best results.

Typical Applications for eCopper 1.75mm 1kg eSUN:

Because of the unique properties of our eSUN eCopper filament, it is most commonly used for applications like printing sculptures or relic-like objects. The colour and feel of this printed filament is reminiscent of past ages in which copper was one of the most malleable materials for creating household objects, and as such, many of our customers enjoy printing small buddha statues and other iconographic figures.

eCopper filament is also a great choice for printing jewellery and metallic accessories, as it can be polished and shined to a beautiful colour while maintaining a strong, sturdy and heavy feel. Additionally, unlike typical copper jewellery, this PLA/copper combination is not as harsh and won't cause discolouring of the skin. These features make it ideal for this application, and many market-stall owners have now begun creating their products out of this material rather than the ever-common pewter.

Shenzhen eSUN Industrial Co., Ltd was established in 2002 in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and has rapidly become one of the leading international suppliers of 3D Printing Filament. They specialise in research, development and production of degradable polymer materials, and have grown their catalogue of filaments to include PLA, ABS, PC, PVA, and a wide range of other polymers and copolymers.

Their list of exclusive filament formulas include unique materials like wood, aluminium, bronze and other materials to create highly specialised filaments that can stretch, bend, be moulded or otherwise behave in very unique ways. Their filaments are also commonly characterised by their absolutely round shape, extremely low diameter tolerance, uniform colours and impressively stable melting points. These characteristics, in combination with their long-term insistent policy of “Best Quality, Reasonable Price” has garnered them a large share of the market, with their reputation commonly preceding them within knowledgeable online and offline 3D Printing communities.

eSUN’s popularity in the industry has also helped to produce sustainable partnerships with many internationally famous 3D Printer manufacturers and distributors, with DIYElectronics having sole distributorship rights to provide their 3D Printing Filaments to South Africa and neighbouring African countries.
