Please Note: eSun has recently changed their filament spool material. You may receive a cardboard spool, instead of the plastic spools depicted above. This move means a more environmentally friendly design to their 3D filament spools which comfortably sit on your 3D printer's standard spool holder for smooth filament feeding.

The exotic filaments category is always exciting to update, with new and unique polymers and copolymers being introduced to the market each and every year. One such example of these enticing Exotic Filaments is our 1.75mm 1kg spools of Carbon Fibre from eSUN, which is comprised of around 80% Reinforced Nylon to add flexibility and reduce costs, while still offering the same benefits that make carbon fibre such a valuable composite.

This 3D Printing filament is relatively easy to print with, although requires a higher print temperature range and heatbed temperature for effective extrusion. It tends to produce a reasonably smooth surface with a beautiful matte finish, and is quite resistant to shrinkage, distortion and warping. These factors all work together to make this filament very enjoyable to print with, while the impressive strength and dark grey, graphite-like matte finish will ensure that each print is not only structurally sound, but also aesthetically pleasing as well.

Additional Note: When printing with this 3D Filament, you will need to use a 0.5mm or 0.4mm Stainless Steel Nozzle due to the highly abrasive nature of the copolymer, since a standard bronze nozzle will wear down quickly if used to print carbon fibre.

Typical Applications for eSUN Carbon Fibre Reinforced Nylon Filament:

This Carbon Fibre Filament from eSUN is an affordable and accessible way to get carbon fibre parts, tools, toys or other objects that you’ve always wanted – but never wanted to pay an arm and leg for. It is made to meet the same standards of low to medium grade carbon fibre, while the high concentration of reinforced nylon ensures that it maintains an affordable price tag despite the amazing advantages it offers. If you’ve always wanted stylish carbon fibre accessories, are eager to produce your own high strength tools, or are ambitious enough to try to print your own carbon fibre parts for your car, there is no easier or more customisable way to do it than with eSUN’s Carbon Fibre Filament.

Please Note: This is regarded as a higher-difficulty polymer, and may require a lot of trial and error to get just right. Excellent technical/engineering filament

Surprisingly easy to print compared to Nylon or Polycarbonate. Adheres well to Garolite sheet without bed heat, 265DegC nozzle temp, 0.4mm nozzle. Almost no warping. I can see this becoming my goto for stronger prints requiring temperature resistance. Get a wear resistant nozzle!

Great Engineering Grade Filament

ePA-CF is relative easy to print with when compared to normal nylon/PA. It is very strong, has a great surface finished and warps much less than normal nylon. It has great build plate adhesion with Fiesta hairspray and bed set at 80°C. Had some trouble to get it to work, but the following settings worked: Hotend @ 285°C; speed @ 30mm/s; layers @ 0.24mm; E3D V6 hotend & hardened steel 0.8mm nozzle. Printed a overhang test up to 75° without support!! Overhangs up to 70° was perfect without any artifacts.

Shenzhen eSUN Industrial Co., Ltd was established in 2002 in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and has rapidly become one of the leading international suppliers of 3D Printing Filament. They specialise in research, development and production of degradable polymer materials, and have grown their catalogue of filaments to include PLA, ABS, PC, PVA, and a wide range of other polymers and copolymers.

Their list of exclusive filament formulas include unique materials like wood, aluminium, bronze and other materials to create highly specialised filaments that can stretch, bend, be moulded or otherwise behave in very unique ways. Their filaments are also commonly characterised by their absolutely round shape, extremely low diameter tolerance, uniform colours and impressively stable melting points. These characteristics, in combination with their long-term insistent policy of “Best Quality, Reasonable Price” has garnered them a large share of the market, with their reputation commonly preceding them within knowledgeable online and offline 3D Printing communities.

eSUN’s popularity in the industry has also helped to produce sustainable partnerships with many internationally famous 3D Printer manufacturers and distributors, with DIYElectronics having sole distributorship rights to provide their 3D Printing Filaments to South Africa and neighbouring African countries.
