If you want a filament that offers true toughness, look no further than Fillamentum CPE CF112 Carbon, designed for high strength and durability.

Compared to standard PLA-based carbon fibre filaments, Fillamentum’s CPE CF112 polymer blends a uniquely modified PETG base, and fortifies it with around 12% of 100µm carbon fibres for incredible strength against almost all forms of impacts and stress.

As inventive and creative people, we Makers always love to create fun, silly and completely whacky prints, even if just from time to time, and let our inner kids just have fun. However, there are certainly times in which we may be looking for a polymer for more functional prints, and sometimes we even need a polymer that can withstand some serious forces. For these kinds of scenarios, it’s great that we can turn to high-strength reinforced materials like Fillamentum CPE CF112 Carbon Filament, which has been specially polymerised with real carbon fibres, to give it a surprisingly rugged level of toughness that is ready to handle real-world applications.

Whereas many of the other carbon fibre reinforced filaments on the market are either PLA or Nylon based, Fillamentum’s CPE CF112 strikes a beautiful middle ground between those two variants. On one hand, PLA carbon fibre is technically easier to print due to the lower temperature requirements and common “easy-to-print” PLA style, it can’t quite offer the durability and ruggedness that some would expect from carbon fibre filament. On the other hand, however, Nylon carbon fibre filament is almost polar opposite, and while offering excellent durability once printed, it’s certainly one of the most difficult 3D Filaments to get right. This is why we’ve been so impressed with Fillamentum CPE CF112, as it utilises a Modified PETG polymer that they call HG100, and uses that as the base polymer for the carbon fibre. This PETG co-polyester is far closer to actual carbon fibre ratings, meaning it blends better by using similar temperatures, but also offers substantially more strength than PLA-based carbon fibre, with the natural toughness of HG100 reinforced by one of the strongest lightweight materials we know of.

Of course, with a core focus on ensuring precision consistency in ever spool produced, Fillamentum has rightfully garnered a position as one of the top suppliers of 3D Filaments throughout the world. From their vibrant range of Fillamentum ABS to the more exotic styles like the Fillamentum Timberfill Range, this amazing brand is not only passionate about quality, but is actually capable of delivering on this promise each and every time, without fail. This is why, regardless of what Fillamentum Polymers you’re choosing for your next project, you can expect excellent results with each and every one.

If you’re looking for a really tough filament that can truly withstand harsh conditions and serious stresses, we’ve found Fillamentum’s CPE CF112 Carbon Filament to be the strongest reinforced filament we’ve come across. With an already-rugged HG100 base polymer and an impressive 12% carbon fibre composition, there are few polymers that can outlast this fantastic blend.

Fillamentum CPE CF112 Filament - 1.75mm Carbon Fibre 0.6kg

Fillamentum CPE CF112 Filament - 1.75mm Carbon Fibre 0.6kg

Starting in as early as 2013, but with roots that go even further than that, Fillamentum is a brand that actually began working in the automotive industry, before moving into the packaging industry, and then eventually arriving in (and specialising in) 3D printing, where they found their true passion. And as a company that has always placed a high priority on following innovation, they took to 3D printing like a fish to water, and since 2013, have been consistently introducing fresh new innovations to the industry in the form of new types of polymers, refinements to classic polymers, as well as hybrid polymers that blend in materials like wood for distinctively unique effects.

What we really love about Fillamentum and their awesome 3D filaments range, is that they offer true consistency even between hundreds or thousands of batches. In fact, they actually match many of their colours to specifically defined Pantones and RAL colours, which are universal colour standards that artists, designers and many other professionals commonly use for precision colour coordination. This of course is complemented by their consistent quality, with an impressive (and tested) 0.05mm tolerance throughout each spool, as well as consistent results from various colours across multiple batches during our own testing phases.

As a brand that clearly demonstrates its passion for 3D printing through it’s beautiful 3D filaments, we’ve been exceptionally impressed with Fillamentum, and we certainly won’t be too surprised if Fillamentum becomes your new favourite 3D filament for all occasions.
