Cosplay outfits, life-like figurines, and fine jewellery are just a few projects where a smooth surface means a better, easier time painting your gorgeous prints or making them as realistic as possible. Most often, this would take hours of painstaking sanding to get rid of those layer lines, but what if we told you there’s a quicker way using the magic of chemistry? PVB Filament prints as easily as PLA but is slightly dissolvable using isopropyl alcohol (IPA), creating a quick beautiful smooth finish.
This 1kg of Transparent Green SunLu PVB Filament is a dreamy new 3D printing material for Makers who want to get rid of layer lines without any sanding necessary. With a transparent green combined with smoothable finish, this SunLu PVB is an interesting filament to work with that could light up from behind with LEDs for a cool Electronics Project as well as awesome spooky decorations! Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) polymers are slightly dissolvable in isopropyl alcohol (IPA), which allows you to easily smooth your prints with an IPA coating. We recommend spraying the IPA evenly onto the model. However, you can also use the methods of dipping or brushing on the alcohol solution. With the layer lines dissolved away on the first shell, your prints will shine with a smooth surface! SunLu PVB Filament also offers the easy printing of regular PLA, making it a fantastic choice for all Makers to experiment with smoothable 3D models. Cut out the time-consuming sanding processing and have a blast painting over this smooth surface.
