When working in industrial or laboratory environments, whether at a dedicated professional location or simply in your backyard shed, the ability to detect various gases can be vital, and this is especially so if you are often dealing in chemistry, reactionary physics or even some basic flame-based projects. This is because concentration as low as 100 parts per million can be dangerous or even deadly depending on the gas, while other gases can suddenly ignite when reaching specific concentration levels near high heat or electrical sparks.
Fortunately, however, we make sure to stock awesome Sensors like the MQ-4 Gas Sensor Module, which is a Methane & Natural Gas detection unit capable of identifying between 200 and 10,000 parts per million, in order to maintain a safe working environment or perform some kind of function once the gas reaches a high concentration. It utilises an SnO2 layer for detecting methane and CNG, with a stainless-steel gauze to prevent large particles from entering, and Bakelite as the inert base to keep it all together.

Compared to our standard MQ-4 Methane Gas Sensor, these Modules have the pins broken out onto a convenient breakout board. This allows Makers to easily harness the awesome functionality of these Gas Sensors but without having to solder anything directly into the circuit, with the breakout module making it super easy to integrate the sensor into whatever project you want.
