E3D V5 Bowden Hotend Assembly for 3mm Filament

This E3D V5 All-Metal Bowden Hotend Assembly is a hotend designed for Bowden-style extruders using 3mm diameter filament, and is the previous model of the firm favourite E3D V6 Bowden Hotend Assembly. The reason for the widespread popularity of these hotend assemblies is because they are capable of reaching extreme temperatures of up to 300°C without any changes or additional parts. This is ideal for printing Exotic Filaments like Aluminium Fill, Nylon and Carbon Fibre, which typically require very high temperatures ranging between 240°C and 290°C.

While this hotend assembly is an older variation, the only difference is that it is slightly bigger and heavier than the E3D V6 Bowden Hotend Assembly. However, aside from that difference, it offers all of the key features that make the E3D hotend assemblies so popular – including the thermistor screw and kapton tape, greater temperature control accuracy, as well as one of the simplest installation processes in 3D printing.

Pro-Tip: For those of you who are using an all metal hotend and having issues with plastic oozing through the heater-block threads, try heating your hotend up to 270°C and tightening the nozzle with a No. 8 spanner – Just don't get too carried away or you will damage the heatbreak, since it has a very thin 0.3mm stainless steel wall.
