As Makers, it’s always fun to build all kinds of projects that add functionality or convenience to our lives at the touch of a button, but if there’s one thing that makes any project even better, it’s the addition of automation, so that you don’t even need to press a button for your projects to kick into action and make your life easier or more comfortable. However, in order to create automated projects that don’t need human interaction to work, Sensor Modules are often used to monitor the environment around them, sending signals that act on behalf of users to automatically start-up projects and get them working in just the ways they’re supposed to. This is why we love growing our collection of sensors with both complex and simple sensors, with these DHT11 V2 Temperature & Humidity Sensor Modules being perfect examples of simple sensors that can be used in advanced ways.

These DHT11 V2 Sensors are designed by DFRobot to the Gravity Series standard, simplifying operations and allowing for easy use in conjunction with common microcontrollers like Arduino Boards or the more advanced Raspberry Pi Boards. It features a nice 3.3V to 5V operating voltage, making it compatible with all kinds of dev boards and MCU’s, while the digital interface allows for quality communications even at extended distances. This makes it a great choice alongside alternatives like the DHT22 Temp & Humidity Sensor as well as the more complex SHT10 Temp & Humidity Sensor, with this particular model focusing on high humidity accuracy and reliable operations within a realistic temperature range of 0°C to +50°C. Of course, this temperature range does limit it in its application versatility, but if you don’t need to measure higher or lower than that range, you simply can’t beat the incredible cost-effectiveness that the simple but powerful DHT11 V2 Sensor Module offers.
