The VS1838 IR Receiver Module is a basic little module that utilises the popular VS1838 IR receiver to sense and receive infrared communications wirelessly. It is designed as a Breakout Board that is compatible with Arduino Boards and similar types of Development Platforms, and allows Makers to build their own IR-based control systems. This module operates on 3V to 5V DC and offers a receiving angle of around 70° at up to 15m distance. It is also protected by a clever little EMF jacket to shield it from electromagnetic interference, with additional features including high resistance to ambient light interference and a variable voltage input as well. These features make these modules fantastically versatile tools for a wide range of use cases, and in the hands of a Maker with an active imagination, we imagine that you're already thinking of ideas on how you're going to be using them for your own projects.
