For any Electronics Makers who have spent enough time in the workshop or lab, experimenting with all kinds of different modules and components that each require different voltages and power supply nuances, you may already know just how valuable Lab Power Supplies can be, with variable power outputs for precision control. However, as hobbyists in electronics, we also know just how expensive an advanced Lab PSU can be, and that’s why we are so eager to introduce the Riden RD6006 Digital Power Supply Module to the catalogue. This fantastic Power Supply Interfacing Module is designed to let you build your own custom Lab PSU, with variable power outputs and specialised functions that are way more advanced than the standard style, with both power conditioning as well as power monitoring capabilities that make it an absolute dream to work with when building various projects and experimenting with all kinds of Modules and components.
In addition to simply regulating and conditioning power to specific levels, the RD6006 series power interfacing modules are quite advanced, and allow for a lot of control over your power delivery capabilities. To start, the RD6006 has an extremely versatile interface, offering both keypad and encoder functionality, with submenus for changing various settings from power-on on boot functionality to backlight brightness levels. Furthermore, with three terminals, two are used simply for output power, but a third is included specifically for Battery Charging, allowing you to create a custom charge cycle for whatever batteries you need to charge. An array of memory storages are also right at your fingertips with the RD6006, allowing you to define preset voltage and max current ratings, and once set, these can be switched to by simply pressing the MEM button followed by one of the M1 to M9 buttons on the keypad, after which enter applies the setting and turns on the output. This is all complemented with an easy to read and clear 2.4-inch LCD display, and a Micro USB interface, which lets you take full advantage of the functionality either from the onboard interface, or via software on your computer.
This insane level of functionality is really quite hard to believe when considering the low price of the RD6006, and it’s no surprise that these series of PSU Interfacing Modules have become popular throughout the world, being one of the best DIY Power Supplies that a hobbyist could dream to have. Just remember though, that this module will require a reliable power supply to provide the input power for power conditioning, and it’s a good idea to consider also getting (or 3D Printing) a Riden DIY PSU Enclosure to keep all of the parts safely contained and operating as a single Desktop Power Supply Unit.
Please Note: The Riden RD6006 does NOT include a Power Supply, but fortunately we’ve made sure to stock the Ryden 60V 6.6A Power Supply, which is a great match for this fantastic power supply module. Furthermore, with this being quite an advanced module compared to most of the modules we stock, it’s a good idea to check out the video at the bottom so you know the basics of what to expect when you get yours.
