TR8X2 Metric Lead Screw Only - 300mm

The TR8x2 8mm OD Metric Leadscrew comes in lengths of 300mm and has a 2mm lead and 2mm pitch. This means that the leadscrew will provide 2mm of linear movement for each rotation done, often used to directly translate the precise rotational accuracy of a stepper motor into linear motion along a straight line. This is ideal for applications like 3D Printing, in which the extruder needs to move up and down with extreme precision to effectively extrude 3D Printer Filament.

The leadscrew has a 2mm pitch with a single start, which ultimately defines the 2mm lead – or linear motion of the nut. This, in comparison to a TR8x8 Leadscrew with an 8mm lead, has a slower speed but higher torque and accuracy due to the amount of stepper motor steps per mm of movement. Whereas an 8mm leadscrew would travel 8mm over 200 steps (0.04mm per step), a 2mm leadscrew like this will travel only 2mm per 200 steps (0.01mm per step) – ultimately offering four times the accuracy.
