The 64x64 RGB LED Matrix Panel from DFRobot is an amazingly modern LED matrix display, and takes LED displays to the next level with 4096 (64x64) individually-addressable LED units arranged in a matrix formation. This, compared to the vast majority of LED Displays of the past, opens up a whole new world of possibilities that would have previously required many hours of hard work to achieve, offering the ability to create entire animated videos or running displays – all made easy through a single, easily controllable panel.

This LED panel has been designed with high brightness and long life in mind, and requires a relatively hefty 5V @ 5A power supply due to the high LED count and powerful LED drivers. Additionally, this board will require 13 digital GPIOs to control the entire functionality of the LED matrix, which of course means you will need an Arduino Mega or similarly capable board to enjoy the full benefits that this panel offers. However, these are reasonably minor requirements when considering the vast functionality and driving capabilities of the panel, and won’t make a huge difference in the total costing of projects that you’re planning to use this panel for.

Please Note: While these RGB LED panels do support cascading, most Arduino Boards are not powerful enough to support it. So please be sure to do research first if you plan to cascade these tiles to create a larger panel.
