These 0.2mm MK8 Nozzles for 1.75mm filament diameter are designed to be used in 3D Printing for high detail and precision, based on the MK8 design and capable of fitting a wide range 1.75mm Hotend Assemblies. Although they are not designed by Makerbot, they are made to the exact same specification with strict quality testing to ensure the same quality that you can expect from original MK8 nozzles.
Another benefit of these nozzles is that they are made from durable brass, which is an excellent choice if you are eager to print ABS or PLA plastics. However, they might not be a good choice for Exotic Filaments like carbon fibre or glow in the dark, as the abrasive nature of such filaments can easily damage the nozzles and widen the output diameter. For any standard types of 3D Printing Filament, however, these nozzles are more than capable of producing quality prints with high levels of detail.

When swapping out 3D Printer Nozzles from other components, we recommend utilising the hot tightening technique for optimal thermal coupling. To do this, simply follow these easy steps, while being careful not to burn yourself of course.
The reason for this is that the aluminium heater blocks used have a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than the brass and steel used in the nozzles and Heat Breaks. This results in a small gap being created between the nozzle and the break inside the block when the hot end is at temperature, but this only happens if the nozzle has been tightened while cold.
*Note: This is not supplied by MakerBot, although it is manufactured to the same specs and quality controlled locally to ensure it functions exactly as expected - while saving you money.
