This little compass module is perfect for Arduino and micro-controller projects and has “bread board” ready pin pitch, this could also be used to relocate to an external compass, on flight controllers that are having mag problems from the proximity to the electric motors. The breakout board includes the HMC5883L sensor and all filtering capacitors as shown. The power and 2-wire interface pins are all broken out to a 0.1" pitch header. Features low current draw which will be the best for your micro project.

Works great. Doesn't work with the Adafruit Library though
It works great. The only problem I found is that I was expecting it to work with the Adafruit library for the HMC5883 and it doesn't. The onboard chip is actually another chip which requires a different library which you can find here:
https://github.com/keepworking/Mecha_QMC5883L
Once I got that installed it worked fine. The example included with the library above works perfectly with this little sensor.
Would have been nice to have the pins already soldered on, but I'm mostly complaining because my soldering skills aren't amazing yet.
