The Particle Boron 2G/3G Cellular Kit is a complete development package, and includes the Boron Development Board, as well as a host of peripherals to let you get started from the moment it arrives at your door. As such, this kit includes a standard USB to micro USB cable, a standard breadboard, a cellular multi-band flex antenna, a decent capacity 1800mAh LiPo battery, as well as two resistors, a Red LED and even a photodiode to let your Boron know when the environment is light or dark. And with just these simple Electronics Components and the Boron board, you can get straight to creating your own mesh network infrastructure, with the Boron acting as the gateway for operations, and your other Particle IoT devices or peripherals connecting as Cloud Devices or nodes.

Note: This Particle Boron Kit is the same kit that is included in the Particle Mesh 2G/3G Bundle, although it doesn’t include the Xenon Boards, the Particle Debugger or the FeatherWing Tripler. Creating a Particle Mesh Network is like opening up Pandora’s Box of Potential, as the diverse nature of these boards and the networks they can create can allow you to do almost any project at almost any range you need it to be. In fact, with just 10 gateways (Like the Boron or Argon), 100 Mesh Devices (Like the Xenon) and some drones with external antennae, you could extend a wireless network all along the Durban coastline, reaching from the entrance of La Mercy all the way through to Durban Point at the harbour entrance – with a reach of up to 5km inland all the way along.

This is just one relatively simple example, however, and it may not be a viable project on a standard hobbyist budget, but with a smaller network of just 1 gateway and 10 mesh nodes, other cool ideas involving the Particle Boron 2G/3G Cellular Kit include:
