The Creality Ender 3 3D Printer is here! And boy have we been having fun building and experimenting with this beautifully crafted machine. Designed in the same fashion as the Creality CR-10 Series of printers, but of course with a smaller build volume of around 220x220x250mm, this FDM 3D printer utilises a strong and sturdy cross-bar gantry frame system to ensure a solid and relentlessly rigid chassis that can handle more than just a light knock.

This solid frame, in the same manner as the Creality CR-10S Flagship model, helps to vastly improve print quality by ensuring very little wobble when components are moving. This results in near-perfect printing accuracy and very low maintenance, as the parts will stay in place even through hundreds of hours of energetic printing. This solid structure is achieved through very precisely machined parts that all fit together perfectly, which many argue is the true secret behind the printing quality of Creality’s range of 3D Printers.

One of the best features about the Creality Ender 3 is that, despite being designed as a budget 3D printer with a competitively low price tag, it is built from very high quality parts and components. These include a black anodised aluminium V-Slot extrusion, a flat and stable heated build plate, an all-metal Creality MK10 Hotend Assembly, a self-enclosed high performance PSU, and even specially made custom belt tensioners.

With all of these amazing features, a seriously sturdy frame, and a price tag of less than R4000, it’s no surprise that Creality’s Ender 3 3D printer is taking the hobby 3D Printing world by storm.

An Extra Safety Note: Please do be sure to toggle the correct AC supply setting on the side of the PSU before plugging it in. It has the option for 110V or 220V AC to accommodate international power ratings, but of course you will want to choose 220V AC for your 3D printer here in South Africa.

Typical Applications for the Creality Ender 3 - 3D Printer:

The Creality Ender 3 is the ideal 3D printer to get if you’re eager to learn about 3D printing, but aren’t ready to invest in a large system. It offers ample build volume for most 3D printing applications, as well as a heated bed to allow for printing in a variety of exotic filaments, and is perfect for enclosures, mounting plates and other useful hobbyist accessories.

However, if you are eager to dive in head first and truly explore the limitations of printing large, fast and with a variety of different upgrades or modifications, consider taking a look at our higher-end range of 3D printers like the Creality CR-10 S5. Alternatively, if you want to try something completely unique compared to FDM printing, consider our new Anycubic Photon DLP printer, which utilises light projections and UV-sensitive photopolymer resins to slowly build prints layer by layer while lifting them out of a liquid vat.

Loving This Printer

Bought this little charm, and the print jobs are super clean.

The unit is also one of the tidier looking ones :)

Amazing

This is simply an amazing machine, simple to assemble and it just works out of the box,
easy to calibrate, just level the bed and you are ready to print.
Kit has everything you could need to get started, for the price the quality is outstanding,
of the build and the prints it produces. If you are looking at getting into 3d printing this is the
"budget" machine for you, even a i3 clone at double the price wont give you everything this little
beast does. highly recommended for begginers to intermediate. either as your first printer or as
a second workhorse. It took an hour to assemble, I had it printing for about 24 hours over the weekend,
no problems, no jams, no recalibration, just pefect print after perfect print.

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
