The Creality CR-X 3D Printer is Creality3D’s latest (and greatest) 3D printer to land on South African soil, and we are excited to be the first in SA to stock them!

Including almost all of the best features from the CR and Ender ranges, Creality have integrated an amazing new feature known as the “2-In-1-Out” design to the CR-X, proving once again that they are leaders in the world of designing and manufacturing top quality 3D Printers. But that’s not all of course, as almost all of your favourite parts have been improved upon, with an even more rigid chassis and bed, a new “Carboloy” silicon heated print platform, as well as many other small reiterations that make this new model the “Crème de la Crème” when compared to other models in a similar price range.

Other key features of the Creality CR-X include the impressively large 300x300x400mm build volume, an ultra-sturdy gantry and Z-axis design, an audio-enabled 4.3inch full-colour touchscreen user interface, upgraded all-metal Creality Extruder Bodies, a brand new heatbed based on the popular UltraBase design, as well as the most stable printing carriage to date with eight Delrin idler wheels to keep it on track and precisely accurate. These all work together to make the Creality CR-X one of the most impressive 3D printers that we have ever had the pleasure of using.

So it may certainly be time to start revisiting those complicated two-colour prints that you’ve always dreamed of making, as the new features of the CR-X means you don’t have to hassle with changing Printer Filaments every few layers, and can instead simply set up your slicer to handle all of the necessary colour switches and purges to produce brilliant multi-colour prints with the touch of a button.

As an extra note, it’s important to consider the fact that when dual-colour printing, the printer will need a small amount of space for the “Purge Tower”, so the build volume will be reduced by default as the slicing software accommodates the extra space needed for the tower. However, there are some experimental ways to avoid requiring a purge tower, such as infill purging or building a raft or shell that does the same job as the tower while protecting the print from drafts.

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
