The world of 3D Printing advances at an incredible rate, to the extent that sometimes even we struggle to keep up with the latest iterations in all of the different technologies. However, Creality 3D has proven to be leaders in the industry by managing to constantly stay ahead of the game, with their new secret weapons succinctly described as their “Pro Series”, which bring a whole host of upgrades and improvements that not only improve print quality, but also add convenience to the entire experience of 3D Printing.

And with that, we introduce the Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer, which is a solid upgrade from the original Creality Ender 3, but boasts a range of upgrades from improved chassis stability all the way through to a redesigned electronics base – with each improvement adding to the value that end-users can enjoy.

The New Features of the Creality Ender 3 Pro:

Although the list of improvements on the Ender 3 Pro aren’t quite as vast as they are on the Creality CR-10S Pro, the Ender 3 Pro brings a range of upgrades that improve both quality and convenience, and these include:

  • A 40mm extrusion for the bed carriage, which adds stability on the Y-axis and prevents the bed from wobbling on its axis.
  • A reliable and trusted Mean Well LRS-350-24 PSU equipped with all the safety and protection features that keep printers safe from unexpected electrical damage.
  • A redesigned electronics base with a repositioned fan (No longer on the top) and an easier to reach SD card slot.
  • The new magnetic flexplate that can be easily removed and flexed to pop the prints off without a scraper or blade.

These are the major upgrades that the Ender 3 Pro features, although Creality have made sure to keep all of the very best features of the original Ender 3. And because the new Pro version is built to almost exactly the same sizing specifications of the previous model, you can delight in the fact that all of the original Ender 3 Mods and upgrades on Thingiverse will perfectly fit the new Pro version too. This means that if you already have an Ender 3, you can simply move all of your mods (Or print new ones, because that’s what 3D Printers are for) over to your new Ender 3 Pro without having to stress about whether they will be capable of adding the same value that they did before.

So, now that you know more about the differences between the Ender 3 and the Ender 3 Pro, let’s take a look at the technical specifications, with a full rundown of the parts and components included:

Our Verdict on the New Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer:

While the improvements and additions to the Ender 3 Pro are not quite as impressive as the CR-10S Pro, we have to admit that they are quite amazing given the lower price bracket that this printer fits into. And compared to the original version, this new model is certainly worth the slightly higher cost – especially since the upgrades that it includes would end up costing more to the end user if you were to actually source and purchase them separately. So, all in all, we believe that the new Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer aptly deserves the “Pro” title, and we’re certain that anyone who has been looking forward to the Ender 3 Pro will be more than just satisfied with how Creality 3D have pushed this model into the “new generation”.

As a final note, and this was the only aspect that we were slightly disappointed in, is that the Magnetic FlexPlate tends to lose magnetism when exposed to temperatures over 80°C. However, we may just be old school, but we prefer equipping our 3D printers with Flat Glass Beds anyway, so this ended up being insignificant compared to the many improvements that added to our experience in building and printing with this machine. Additionally, this FlexPlate can also simply be removed when you want to print high-temperature 3D Filaments, making it an optional upgrade that you don’t even need to use if you don’t want to.

  • An excellent video on the Creality Ender 3 Pro, which explores all of the new features that you can expect to enjoy (Bear in mind that the base-wobble seen in the video is a result of untightened screws during assembly, and we fixed ours by simply ensuring tight screws around the base of the unit):

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
