With so much success over the past year, many of us half-expected Creality to take a bit of a well-deserved break to simply enjoy being leaders in the industry for a while. But they prove that in order to be leaders, you have to stay as far ahead of competitors as possible, which is precisely what they’ve done with their new Pro series of 3D Printers. And with that said, it’s time to get excited as we introduce the new Creality CR-20 Pro 3D Printer!

The Creality CR-20 Pro is a humble but very appreciated improvement of the Creality CR-20 3D Printer, and is aimed at catering to hobbyists who are eager for more functionality than what the Creality Ender 3 Pro offers, but without all of the fancy gadgets and extras that the top-of-the-line Creality CR-10S Pro brings to the table. It has been improved with a range of exciting new features, with some of major changes including:

  • A more rigid PG40 frame for the Y-Axis, to boost bed stability and overall durability.
  • A Creality V2.1 motherboard with all of the key benefits that made the CR-10 S series so widely sought-after.
  • An authentic BLTouch sensor that utilises the 9-Point Matrix Mesh levelling technique for perfect flatness throughout the build platform.
  • A reliable brand-name Mean Well PSU, which is a huge improvement over the older LED power supplies that 3D Printers used in the past.
  • World-renowned Capricorn PTFE Tubing for optimal low-friction filament travel between the extruder and hotend.
  • And finally, Creality’s new “CMagnetic” FlexPlate that can be easily detached for convenient print removal and maintenance.

These, however, are just the major upgrades, and Creality 3D have also made a few minor upgrades as well, which mostly cater to more stability for the nuts, bolts and other fastening elements. However, despite these amazing improvements to the machine, the CR-20 Pro still falls within the same attractive price range as the previous model. This is where the true benefit lies, as Creality understands that hobbyists don’t always the biggest budgets to spend on toys and tools, and so they made sure to keep the price point low and enticing to anyone who is eager to get involved in the world of 3D Printing and start fabricating their own tools, toys, models and other goodies from the comfort of home – with a reliable machine that is both easy to use and relatively easy to fix.

Our Verdict on the Creality CR-20 Pro 3D Printer:

With the CR-20 Pro, it’s easy to see that Creality has put a strong focus on improving the user experience and durability of the Original Creality CR-20, but without compromising on the impressive value-for-money that the model offered. We believe this was an excellent move, since the Creality CR-10S Pro is focused on high-end features, while the Creality Ender 3 Pro is focused on high quality for low cost – leaving just enough space in the middle for the CR-20 Pro to offer a perfect balance of high-end features at a surprisingly low cost. In fact, just the BLTouch and Mean Well PSU upgrades would typically cost more than the difference in price between the Pro and standard models, making the Pro variation even more impressive in terms of genuine value for money.

With these factors in mind, we’re happy to let you know that the CR-20 Pro rightfully deserves the “Pro” title, as it maintains a firm position within the same price bracket as the standard model, while adding extra value in all of places where it actually matters. So if you’re looking to upgrade to a newer model that offers more user-convenience and better print quality, the CR-20 Pro is certainly a worthwhile investment that will offer endless hours of enjoyment.

Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.

The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.

If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
