When looking through the numerous different manufacturers of 3D Printers nowadays, it’s often easy to see which brands are the leaders in the space, as they are the ones who are typically pushing the industry forward with fresh new designs, iterations and refinements toward Hobbyist 3D Printing Tech’. However, if there’s one brand that really shines in this regard, it’s Creality, with an average of around 5 to 7 new machines being produced each and every year since 2017. This is one of the aspects that we love the most from Creality 3D, as overall have become some of the key players that are driving the technology forward at a blazing fast pace, and we feel that the Creality Ender-6 is an excellent example of precisely what makes them leaders in the space.
The Creality Ender-6 is a true masterpiece of a 3D Printer that features a unique Core-XY design, which is very different from the standard Creality CR-10 and Ender 3 based machines, and is designed in a similar manner to the Creality Ender 5 Series. However, while the Ender 4 and Ender 5 machines were designed according to the H-Bot standard, the Ender-6 now features a Core-XY build, and this does an excellent job at catering to some of the minor weaknesses of the H-Bot design, offering a higher level of accuracy and speed due to the reduced strains and forces that the various 3D Components experience throughout 3D Printer movements. This translates to faster print speeds and better accuracy throughout each and every print, while also offering some of the key features that have made the modern Creality 3D Printers so damn attractive when compared to other models on the market.
While some 3D Printer models have placed a strong focus on going big, and others have focused purely on features and functionality, the Creality Ender-6 strikes a beautiful balance between these two core focuses, offering a good build volume that is just a little smaller than the Creality CR-10 S4 and just a bit larger than the Creality Ender 5 Pro, as well as a great mix of features that are not only valuable to Makers, but cost-effective too. This has resulted in a true powerhouse of a 3D Printer that can cater to almost any Maker out there, making it a great choice for Makers who like to print BIG, but also for those who like to print with precision!
So let’s take a brief look at a few of these key features that make the Creality Ender-6 such an enticing offer, and take a deeper dive into what those might mean for you, as an enthusiastic Maker with big dreams and a desire to Create:

When first setting up and taking a proper look at the new Creality Ender-6, we must admit that the assembly of this machine is certainly quite a task, and is quite a lot more complex than what we’ve come to expect from Creality’s 3D Printers. However, despite the initially-daunting number of parts and the pages of instructions that we had to follow, we found it overall to be relatively simple, and it just took a little while longer than usual since we wanted to get our unit as squared up and precise as possible. Fortunately, this turned out to be time very well spent, as after setting up a test print and getting the bed levelled “Just Right”, the Ender-6 immediately started demonstrating precisely what it was capable of, showing off its impressive speed while maintaining a good level of precision – and all of this with nearly silent operations.
In terms of the features, what we really love most about the Ender-6 is the genuine Core-XY design, which caters to the minor downfalls of the H-Bot design, while dramatically improving theoretical top speeds and maintaining good accuracy even at those high speeds. Furthermore, this is complemented with a build volume that is quite a bit larger than the original Creality Ender 3, and all of this is neatly boxed up with a snug, well designed semi-enclosure that’s relatively simple to setup and take full advantage of. These features, coupled with the quality that has been steadily improving from Creality over the past couple of years, has resulted in what we consider to be a real winner, delivering on the promise of great quality, great speeds and awesome reliability.
Finally, the following is a pretty good unboxing and build video by Creality, which demonstrates many of the cool features and key components of the cool new Creality Ender-6, as well as the typical build process you can expect when you get yours unboxed for the first time:
Although Creality 3D have been working within the industry since 2014, their addition of the Creality CR-10 series is what really catapulted them to the front line of competition, as it offered substantially better quality compared to other 3D printers – while simultaneously reducing the cost and complexities of the machines.
The quality of Creality’s 3D Printers and accessories shows through in their market history, with the brand selling around 3000 printers in their first year on the market, followed by about 10,000 sales over the next year. Now, Creality easily sells around 30,000 or more 3D printers each year, with sales continuously rising as they bring out more models. These are impressive numbers when considering the fact that they entered the industry as unknown competitors, quickly rising through the ranks and now even competing with Wanhao and similar top brands.
If you are looking for excellent 3D Printers that offer affordability without compromising on quality, Creality 3D is certainly a brand that you should take note of. From the basic Creality Ender 2 all the way up to the large build volume Creality CR-10 S5, there are few other brands who are capable of offering such a refined package while still maintaining some of the most enticing prices in the industry.
Amazing 3D Printer
I have has this new 3D Printer for about two weeks and have printed PLA and TPU both with ease. The new core-xy design is super stable and print speeds are insane! I upgraded to a Micro Swiss all metal hot end and have not looked back. Really worth the spend!
