Neodymium N38 Magnets - Disk, 3x1mm, Gold Plated

As many of you may already know by now, we simply love magnets here at DIYElectronics, as they can be tremendously useful in an exceptionally wide range of applications, and require almost no setting up, installation or preparations for users to enjoy the full benefits they offer. This is what gets us really excited with these Gold Plated Neodymium N38 Magnets, which are small 3x1mm Disk Magnets that have been specially plated to offer a unique benefit that other magnets simply can’t offer.

The first benefit is that gold is far more conductive than Nickel, which is often the plating of choice for standard Neodymium Magnets, and this conductivity actually allows you to create your own snap circuits by simply magnetically attaching soldered washers onto the back of two magnets. Then, when the magnets snap together, the circuit is complete and current can flow along the conductive gold coating.

The second benefit is that gold is regarded as a completely inert material in the biological world, and the large majority of humans on our planet can freely interact with and wear it, as well as even insert gold beneath the skin, without worrying too much about allergies or bad reactions to the metal. Of course, we don’t recommend sticking anything under your skin unless under the guidance of a doctor or similar trained professional, but the gold plating does mean that these magnets can also be used for accessories and Wearable Tech’ and e-Textiles without the wearer having to worry about skin or sweat reactions if skin is in contact with the bare metal coating.
