Electronic components come in many different shapes, sizes, forms and ratings, and some of the most common of these are capacitors, which are kind of like tiny batteries with a very fast charge and discharge rate that can provide many different benefits for Electronics, from decoupling and filtering through to last-resort charge storage and high power pulses. However, as anyone who has built custom circuits will know, Capacitors come in varying sizes and ratings, and it’s not always easy to find the exact capacitor you need for specific applications, and this is precisely the reason why we love handy Component Mega Packs like this Assorted Capacitors Mega Pack, which features 250 Ceramic Capacitors with 25 varying capacitances, so that you don’t have to search far and wide to find the capacitor you need, and can instead just reach into your toolbox and grab the exact rated capacitor you need.
Unfortunately, unlike our other Mega Packs, these don’t include a handy carry case, although this is primarily because the entire pack is very small even with 250 units included. Fortunately though, as Makers we can fix this minor problem by simply 3D Printing a storage unit, such as this Capacitor Storage Case on Thingiverse, and this way we can customise it to fit our exact needs. Even without a storage unit, however, the tiny separated bags of capacitors are still very easy to use, and having such a wide selection is a fantastic benefit when Prototyping or trying to repair various circuits, ensuring that you always have the precise component you need when the need suddenly arises.

As self-proclaimed “Robo-holics”, DFRobot is a company comprised of over 100 staff members, of which 30% are engineers who love to build robots. It was started in 2008 with the goal of embracing and promoting open-source hardware, with a core focus on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and their very own LattePanda development boards. Since then, DFRobot have manufactured over 1300 unique modules, sensors and components that all work together and complement each other, allowing users like us to enjoy a full spectrum of cutting edge robotics and electronics without having to pay premium prices.
With the primary goal of developing and manufacturing great quality products, while making them accessible to as many people as possible, DFRobot are rapidly becoming one of the most common-place brands in the world of open-source robotics and electronics. With more than 1300 products developed in-house, and an impressive range of different categories and specialisations, there are few brands in the world who can compete in terms of quality, accessibility and genuine innovation.
