For anyone who has spent more than just a few minutes levelling the bed in 3D Printing, only to come back a few prints later and find that it’s completely unlevelled once again, you will have definitely felt the frustration that comes with failed prints from bad first layer adhesion. This is why so many 3D Makers are choosing to swap from manual levelling over to automated levelling, as it’s just so much easier to tell 3D Printers to level themselves than to get your own hands dirty with careful adjustments and the classic paper technique. However, while a large majority of 3D Makers do prefer automatic to manual bed levelling, with so many different options available, it can sometimes get tricky to find the one that best suits your needs and your 3D Printer setup, and that’s why we always try to keep stock of a good range of different Bed Levelling Sensors, with these LJ12A3-4-Z/BY PNP Inductive Sensor Probes being a good addition to our growing list.

The LJ12A3-4-Z/BY PNP Inductive Sensor Probe is designed in an extremely similar fashion to the LJ12A3-4-Z/BX NPN Probe, but offers a PNP style configuration instead, which for advanced users means that the voltage will be sourced to the MCU or controller board, rather than from it, and while being a little trickier to use than NPN versions, offers some benefits that some setups simply can’t work without. So, while we would typically recommend the LJ12A3-4-Z/BX NPN Probe for this kind of application, since it offers very similar effects but it easier to use, we also know that each Maker’s setup can vary quite drastically, and so we always try to maintain stock for all Makers, and whether you want to utilise a PNP or NPN inductive sensor for your bed levelling in 3D Printing, we do our best to keep stock of the sensors, modules and other 3D Printer Parts that you need.
