Please Note: eSun has recently changed their filament spool material. You may receive a cardboard spool, instead of the plastic spools depicted above. This move means a more environmentally friendly design to their 3D filament spools which comfortably sit on your 3D printer's standard spool holder for smooth filament feeding.

There’s always something so special about taking just a simple idea and being able to turn it into a real-life object from nothing but raw materials. However, while 3D Printers are extremely impressive machines that are certainly capable of turning ideas into realities, they can’t quite do anything and everything, and sometimes certain ideas require more than just the raw materials, and actually need some extra assistance during the printing process in order to come out just as you had imagined. This is where the real power of PVA Filament comes in, as it is designed to be water-soluble, so as to act as a support materials for other polymers, allowing you to really stretch your imagination and stretch the capabilities of 3D Printers, to create truly awe-inspiring and sometimes even mind-bending prints that simply wouldn’t be possible with a large majority of other fabrication techniques.

PVA, when compared to most other 3D Filaments and polymer types, is not necessarily for printing, and instead is used to assist with near-impossible prints, as it can be laid down to act as a support for other materials, after which it can be easily dissolved away with just water. This opens up many awesome opportunities for taking your 3D Printing game to the next level, allowing for extreme overhangs and technically-difficult details on prints, but without resulting in the common sagging or drooping problems that such prints would typically fall victim to. And of course, all of this is complemented perfectly by the fact that this filament has also been designed to work well alongside other polymers, offering almost the exact same printing parameters as PLA Filaments, but also very similar parameters to other polymers on the market too, making it a great companion filament for almost any polymers that you like to use.

Typical Applications for eSUN Natural PVA Filament:

Although there’s technically nothing stopping you from using PVA Filaments for standard 3D Printing, PVA Filament is most commonly used for building temporary struts and scaffolds in 3D Printing, allowing Makers to produce complex prints with thin structures, large overhangs, as well as extremely complex and difficult fine details. After the print is complete, the entire print can then be submerged and left in hot water of up to 60°C to dissolve the struts without damaging or negatively affecting the main components of the print. This results in far better quality and more technically complex prints with substantially less droop, sag or similar problems, and is genuinely one of the easiest and most value-adding filaments that we’ve enjoyed using so far. It’s not often that you find a material that can be used to enhance the quality of other materials in 3D Printing, and over time, we’ve developed quite a fondness towards this filament for exactly that reason.

Shenzhen eSUN Industrial Co., Ltd was established in 2002 in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and has rapidly become one of the leading international suppliers of 3D Printing Filament. They specialise in research, development and production of degradable polymer materials, and have grown their catalogue of filaments to include PLA, ABS, PC, PVA, and a wide range of other polymers and copolymers.

Their list of exclusive filament formulas include unique materials like wood, aluminium, bronze and other materials to create highly specialised filaments that can stretch, bend, be moulded or otherwise behave in very unique ways. Their filaments are also commonly characterised by their absolutely round shape, extremely low diameter tolerance, uniform colours and impressively stable melting points. These characteristics, in combination with their long-term insistent policy of “Best Quality, Reasonable Price” has garnered them a large share of the market, with their reputation commonly preceding them within knowledgeable online and offline 3D Printing communities.

eSUN’s popularity in the industry has also helped to produce sustainable partnerships with many internationally famous 3D Printer manufacturers and distributors, with DIYElectronics having sole distributorship rights to provide their 3D Printing Filaments to South Africa and neighbouring African countries.
