It’s always quite a fun experience when building Electronics projects to bring in mechanical motions, so as to provide physical functionality and integrate motion in unique and novel, or just convenient or functional ways. This is what inspires us to always be on the lookout for cool Mechanics & CNC products that we can add to our collection, so that Makers like you can have even more choice when it comes to what Modules, components and mechanical parts to use in the cool projects you love to build. These DFRobot Micro 9 Gram 360° Servo Motors are one such fine example, and are relatively basic in design, but can provide functionality that very few other hobbyist parts can. With relatively simple PWM signals and sufficient power, these tiny Hobby Servos can be controlled with ease, featuring an impressive 1.6kg/cm holding torque despite their small size, and compatible with all kinds of microcontrollers like Arduino Boards that operate on 5V or more.

These DFRobot Micro 9 Gram Servos offer a full 360° rotational motion for small to intermediate electronics and mechanical projects, and can be controlled via an MCU with simple digital PWM signalling. They are extremely light and compact for their strength rating, and can be easily mounted onto or installed within a project, making them perfect for Robotics and minor automation projects that don’t need a lot of movement, but may need to turn a sensor, flip a switch, pull or push an object, or even lift and lower a scoop. These of course are just a few examples, and with such a diverse nature, Servo Motors like these can really be used for any applications in which you need some basic motion at a low cost and with reasonably low power draw. So if you’ve got some ideas of how you could use servos to push, pull, twist, lift, spin, flick or otherwise interact with things, you can rest assured that this DFRobot Micro 9g Servo will be up for the task, and ready to deliver a good long lifespan of effective mechanical motion.

Finally, if you want to integrate servo mechanisms into your project, but are looking for a servo with a limited 180° rotation instead of the full 360° rotation that this unit offers, then make sure to check out the DFRobot Micro 9 Gram 180° Servo that we stock, which is built to almost the exact same specifications, but features a high maximum angle.

DFRobot Micro 9 Gram 360° Servo - DF9GMS

As self-proclaimed “Robo-holics”, DFRobot is a company comprised of over 100 staff members, of which 30% are engineers who love to build robots. It was started in 2008 with the goal of embracing and promoting open-source hardware, with a core focus on Arduino, Raspberry Pi and their very own LattePanda development boards. Since then, DFRobot have manufactured over 1300 unique modules, sensors and components that all work together and complement each other, allowing users like us to enjoy a full spectrum of cutting edge robotics and electronics without having to pay premium prices.

With the primary goal of developing and manufacturing great quality products, while making them accessible to as many people as possible, DFRobot are rapidly becoming one of the most common-place brands in the world of open-source robotics and electronics. With more than 1300 products developed in-house, and an impressive range of different categories and specialisations, there are few brands in the world who can compete in terms of quality, accessibility and genuine innovation.
