When looking at the difference between FDM/FFF Printing with 3D Filaments and the more modern DLP & SLA Printing with 3D Resins, it’s quite obvious even at a glance that 3D Resin Printing is definitely capable of a much higher level of quality and precision, and this is primarily due to the fact that instead of relying on heated particles, it uses optics and UV light along with high resolution masking displays or precision lasers to cure UV Reactive Resins with extreme accuracy. However, while 3D resins are typically capable of achieving a higher level of print “quality”, the mechanical strengths of 3D Resins often can’t even compare to the strengths of filament-based prints. This is why awesome brands like Siraya Tech have dedicated themselves to create unique polymer blends to cater to this common problem, with Siraya Tech Sculpt Resin having a strength that doesn’t forgo it’s high-resolution quality.
Siraya Tech Sculpt Resin was created with functionality in mind while maintaining incredible detail and stable structures that could be crucial for Prototyping designs and model makers. Interestingly, 3D Resins are not thermoplastics, meaning they cannot revert back to a liquid state once cured. Instead, if a Resin print is exposed to enough heat, it will warp, blacken and break apart. However, this Siraya Tech Sculpt Resin has one of the highest heat deflection temperatures we’ve seen at 160°C and resists softening when it reaches these high temperatures. This makes Siraya Tech Sculpt Resin a wonderfully reliant material for DIY Projects and models that need to maintain their shape and Sculpt Resin can be added to other 3D Resins to add high deflection temperature to your mixture.
The incredible detail you get when 3D Printing with resin is one of DLP & SLA Printing’s greatest lures and makes it worth all the hassle that comes with careful handling, cleaning and post processing. Of course, we recommend you always wear those gloves and exercise responsible disposal when working with toxic 3D Resins. This specialised Grey Siraya Sculpt Resin may also be more temperamental to print with than other standard 3D Resins out there. Considered a slow resin, Siraya Sculpt Resin cures slightly slower than other resins, benefiting from between 15 to 16 seconds per layer. The trade-off for longer prints is a top-grade finish, looking so smooth and detailed that it’s hard to believe your print wasn’t injection-moulded. So, if you’re looking for great quality, good strength, as well as distinctly awesome aesthetics, this Grey Siraya Tech Sculpt Resin is the perfect choice.
