The Solar Power Manager Micro V1 is a brilliant little DFRobot Original module designed for ultra-low power projects like IoT buttons and other wireless gadgetry. It can operate on multiple different inputs including solar energy, battery power or USB Micro, and is capable of delivering a clean and regulated 3.3V output to power small 3.3V boards or to charge the Li-Ion/Li-Po Battery attached. This enables this module to power other modules, boards or devices from solar energy while the sun is shining, and then switch over to the charged battery when the sun goes down – offering 24/7 uptime with very little maintenance once it’s all set up.
While we do have larger versions that can handle up to 18V inputs and up to 12V 8A outputs in our Solar Power section, we made sure to get this ultra-low power version as well because of the incredible value-for-money that it offers. Not only does it offer a good range of inputs and outputs for various applications, but it also includes a nice range of protection features, which include over-discharge, over-charge and reverse connection protection for the BAT IN, as well as short-circuit and over-current protection for the OUT port too. This helps to keep all of your Electronics Modules and components safe from unexpected damage, but excludes some of the more frivolous protection features so as to cut down on costs for the end user.
And just to top off an already great deal with more value, the Solar Power Manager Micro also includes a 2V 160mA solar Panel, which is more than capable of supplying sufficient energy to lightweight electronics and wireless module peak bursts. More information on this solar panel can be found below.
Note: If you’re looking for higher-power solar management modules, we also stock the 5V Solar Power Manager, the Solar Power Manager for 9V/12V/18V, as well as the Solar Power Manager for 12V Lead-Acid, so as to ensure that you can get the perfect solar module for your project or application.
