As Makers, we’re always looking for unique and fresh projects to sink our teeth into and give us a nice new challenge to take on. This is why, in the past, we’ve had quite a fondness for Solar Panels, as solar panels can allow for quite unique projects, either providing much needed power in remote or hard to reach locations, or used in other more nuanced ways such as photon intensity sensing. Of course, their relatively open-ended nature does lend itself well to this, with each Maker possibly having their own idea of just how they want to use solar panels, and that’s why we’ve been on a mission to get as many different styles of solar panels as possible, so that you’re not limited by your local selection, and you can explore the awesome, odd and sometimes even obscure solar projects you’ve been eager to try.

These 1.5V 250mA Flexible Solar Panels are relatively small, being 195x58mm in size, but bring the very cool feature of being super flexible, installed within a protective but flexible membrane that can be cut to size, sewn together, stitched to other textiles, and even just glued directly onto surfaces. This means that you can finally make that camping chair that automatically your beverages while you’re enjoying a day out at the damn, or that backpack that keeps your Electronics powered or mobile devices charged while you enjoy your healthy hikes through the wilderness. Of course, these particular ideas may not quite be what you were thinking, but that’s the beauty of these solar panels, and their versatile style means that anyone can use them for almost any Solar Power project they have in mind. Heck, you could even glue these onto the top of your car to provide extra power outlets without draining your battery, or you could fill your bedroom window with them and use natural light to power your colourful LED system. Whichever way you want to use these panels though, the awesome flexibility and very versatile style ensures that these can probably be a good fit for whatever hobbyist and experimental applications that you have in mind.

Please Note: Without any symbols, it’s important to test and identify the positive and negative connections before connecting any sensitive electronics to this panel. Additionally, if you are using multiple panels and creating an array of sorts, be sure to get yourself a handy Solar Power Manager to keep the panels and the connected devices or electronics safe.
