As you’ve probably heard or possibly even experienced before, the TS range of Soldering Irons from Miniware are some of the nicest tools to have for any electronics Maker, allowing for easy and quick prototyping and circuit building within a moment’s notice. However, if you ever have to work on highly sensitive Electronics that are prone to electrostatic damage, then a standard soldering iron simply won’t work – that is, unless you have it grounded with a trusty and reliable Grounding Wire, and that’s precisely what this ESD Grounding Wire for TS100, TS80 and TS80P is for!

This Grounding Wire from Miniware is an ingenious yet very simple solution to help prevent electrostatic damage while repairing and Prototyping electronics, and it works by just attaching to the middle of the soldering iron – just nearby where you plug in the tip you’re using – and then connecting it directly to a grounding point. This helps to provide a clear path to ground for whatever stray charge that might be lurking in various components, or even in your hands or the tools that you’re working with. And of course, as any electronics enthusiast will know, static can be a very frustrating thing to have to deal with, and this is prevalent in the fact that so many Modules, components and other electronics that you buy nowadays comes pre-packed in anti-static bags.

Now, while we completely understand that not all electronics are extremely susceptible to static charge, and some are almost immune to it even when exposed to large shocks, if you’re working with expensive electronics, or if you perform repairs, maintenance and prototyping as a profession, then you simply have to have a handy grounding wire to protect those electronics from fault and damage. So, whether you‘re a professional n the Electronics field, or just want to play it safe for your Hobbyist Electronics, then these handy little grounding wires are inexpensive but invaluable tools to keep for whenever and wherever you need them most.

Grounding Wire for TS100 / TS80 / TS80P

Guangzhou e-Design Intelligent Technology, or more affectionately known as Miniware to us electronics enthusiasts, is the brand that created the awesome TS100 Soldering Iron, and this single item is what helped them rapidly grow in popularity, due to the impressive quality coupled with fancy features – all in a beautifully portable design that can even be powered by LiPo Cell Packs!

Although Miniware remained somewhat unknown before the launch of the TS100, they have actually been involved in electronics design since as far back as 2000, and they hold the title of being the first in the world to design a portable handheld oscilloscope in 2009. Since then, however, Miniware has been rapidly gaining popularity due to the impressive level of quality and sophistication of each their awesome products, and how they manage to fit even more features and functionality into their handheld devices than many of the popular desktop devices within the same price range.

With almost every single one of their awesome products being a truly valuable addition to almost any workshop space, Miniware are one of our favourite brands. And while they certainly don’t release new products often, we simply love to get new goodies in from the moment they are prototyped, so that we can enjoy the awesome new features (both novel and functional) that they have chosen to integrate.
