Extruder Drive Gear - 40 Tooth
This 40 Tooth Extruder Drive Gear is a small part that grips the filament and pushes it through to the hotend, for smooth and consistent filament extrusion.
This is a basic Extruder Drive Gear that fits into extruder assemblies and grips the 3D Printing Filament to push it towards the hotend assembly. It is capable of high torque without damaging the filament, and fits directly onto the shaft of NEMA 17 Stepper Motors, making it simple to install but effective at assisting with consistent extrusion. Although this is a basic little part, it is a vital part in the extruder system, and counteracts the back-pressure of melted filament within the hotend assembly.
These particular Extruder Drive Gears are made for the Creality CR-10 Series of 3D Printers, and ensure that the printer can easily pull and push the filament. This translates to smooth and consistent extrusion, with improved print quality, and greatly reduces the chances of clogging or similar problems within the hotend assembly.

Typical Applications for the 40 Tooth Extruder Drive Gear:
This Extruder Drive Gear is typically installed on the NEMA 17 shaft in Creality CR-10 3D Printers, to grip the filament and push or pull it within the extruder. Primarily, it pushes the filament toward the hotend where it melts, but it is also vital for pulling the filament back up slightly to create a pressure void and prevent leaks or stringing while the hotend assembly is moving across the printbed.
