This little D5 Hot End Isolator Coupler is a clever little component that is designed to fit the D5 PEEK Isolator within Wanhao Duplicator 5 Hotend Assemblies and helps to guide filament through the metal throat, and down into the heater block and nozzle.

This is important for these particular Extruder Assembly designs, as they don’t operate with typical Cooling Towers like you might suspect. Instead, it uses isolators and couplers to trap the heat within the throat, where the filament heats up just before reaching the heater block. This is why this hot end isolator coupler is made from PTFE, to reduce wear and tear from heat while allowing for as little friction as possible on the filament.

Typical Applications for the Wanhao D5 Hot End Isolator Coupler:

The D5 Hot End Isolator Coupler is made to fit 3mm 3D Printing Filament, which is typically used within Duplicator 5 Series of 3D Printers, and provides a snug fit to prevent as much heat from escaping as possible. However, because of the specialised nature of these parts, they are not very often used for much else.

The parts have been tested to work for around 200 printing hours before the wear and tear is substantial enough to warrant a replacement, although this can be affected by what types of filament are used, as well as what temperatures the part had to endure throughout its lifespan. The part is also a Wanhao Original part, so you can rest assured that it will be high quality with an impressive level of accuracy and durability.
