This D5S PEEK Isolator is a specialised part made to connect the D5 Hot End Isolator Coupler to the D5 Metal Isolator Tube throat. It is made from Polyether Ether Ketone plastic polymer, and is both heat resistant and durable so as to handle the high temperatures of the Hotend Assembly. It is also a Wanhao Original Part, one of the leading manufacturers in 3D Printing, which means you can rest assured that it will meet the high quality and durability standards that Wanhao is known for throughout the world.

The top has a perfectly-sized threaded hole to fit the thread from the PTFE coupler, with a small indentation so that the coupler fits snugly with enough friction to hold it fast in place. The bottom features a threaded hole which matches the metal isolator tube, or throat, and then the entire 3-piece unit screws into the heater block.

To ensure that installing and removing the part is relatively easy, the top part has is rounded with two flat edges – one on each side. This enables users to use a spanner and get a firm grip, without damaging the part or any tools. And because this part is made from PEEK plastic, it is capable of handling higher temperatures than the PTFE tubing, making it the perfect “middle-man” to connect the PTFE coupler to the metal throat.

Typical Applications for the Wanhao D5S PEEK Isolator:

The D5S PEEK Isolator is designed to be used in Wanhao D5 series of 3D Printers, and is particularly made for the D5, D5S and D5 Mini. It attaches to the hot end isolator coupler as well as the metal isolator throat, which then screws into the heater block and the extruder assembly on either side. It is designed to last for around 200 printing hours before wear and tear starts to take its toll, although many users have reported that they last for a lot longer when not exposed to high temperatures for extended periods of time – such as with very long or slow prints.
