AA Battery 5V 1A Boost Module V3

If you love to program with Arduino and 5V electronics, but have always struggled with finding reliable, portable Power Sources for your projects, then it’s time to get excited with this seemingly simple but surprisingly functional 5V Boost Module!

The AA Battery 5V 1A Boost Module V3 is the second iteration of the design, and is built to convert the low input voltages from dual AA Batteries (1.5V each) up to a clean, usable 5V output. This is amazing for any Arduino-based projects that you want to take into the outside world, as it offers a reliable way to power your components without having to plug them into a wall outlet. This is also an invaluable module for wearable tech’ like Arduino LilyPad projects, which of course need portable power if you want to take them out into the world where they belong.

While it is possible to use Lithium Batteries for 5V projects, that would also need further voltage regulation and would require you to keep spare charged batteries on hand. The benefit of this setup, however, is that you can simply buy disposable AA batteries wherever you are to keep your project powered, giving you true freedom to take your projects wherever you want to go.

Extra Note: If you are confident in your electronics abilities, you may want to remove the POWER LED on the board, which results in dramatically reduced current consumption while maintaining the exact same functionality.
