The MAX6675 K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor Kit is a pack consisting of a thermocouple and a digital converter, made to measure high temperatures of up to 700°C to output digital values that you can use within electronics projects. It utilises the Metal Sheathed K-Type Thermocouple as a sensor, with the cold-junction compensation technique to accurately measure temperatures with a resolution of 0.25°C. This helps to ensure high precision even in extreme environments, which is what makes it so popular for applications like temperature control systems in ovens and furnaces.
The digital sensor unit in this kit is the brains of the operation, and converts the analog signals produced by the thermocouple into 12-Bit usable digital signals. This means that it can be used with Arduino Boards, Raspberry Pi SBC’s, or any other type of microcontroller capable of processing digital signals. And while this kit does come with the K-Type cold-junction sensor, the digital converter can actually be used with a wide range of other sensors, although these two components work together very well, which is why we have chosen to include these specific products together in a bundled package.
For more information about the sensor that comes included in this kit, take a look at our Metal Sheathed K-Type Thermocouple page to find out more about the materials used, how it works, as well as more insights into the benefits it offers.

The MAX6675 K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor Kit is an all-in-one solution to accurate and reliable temperature sensing, and is most commonly used for monitoring, automation and reaction systems relating to high temperatures. It is capable of converting analog signals into digital signals for use in Electronics projects and machinery, and can handle extreme heat up to around 700°C without any problems – making it a great choice for ovens, furnaces and other intensely hot applications.
Just remember that this unit will be adversely affected by liquid environments, and the sensor is primarily designed to measure the temperatures or airs and gases, with enclosed environments resulting in higher precision readings.
