In the past, when experimenting with 3D Pens like the 3Doodler, we’ve always been disappointed at the gimmicky designs. In the past, when experimenting with 3D Pens like the 3Doodler, we’ve always been disappointed at the gimmicky designs. However, after getting the 3Dsimo MultiPro, we believe that we’ve finally found 3D Pens that are worthy, and that we’re eager to supply and support for South African Makers who want to try this exciting tech’ for themselves!

Whereas most 3D Pens simply heat filament until it’s hot enough to be extruded out the tip – an objectively basic design that a simple modified soldering iron could achieve – we prefer to look for the 3D Pen designs that go Above and Beyond this basic functionality. This is why it has taken us so long to stock 3D Pens at DIYElectronics, as most of the models out there are simply “Heated-Plastic Extruders” in a pen-like design, and after a few hours of playing with the original models over the years, we came to a false-conclusion that the potential for such devices was unfortunately limited and somewhat boring once the novelty of the devices wore out.

Needless to say, we have been delightfully surprised by the sheer functionality and ingenious design of 3Dsimo 3D Pens, and we hope that this fantastic brand sets new benchmarks for functionality and value that all 3D Pen manufacturers should strive to meet in the future. So keep an eye on this category as new models of 3D Pens are released, as we will certainly be scouting for more models that are as good as the 3Dsimo designs, and we’re looking forward to adding only the very best 3D Pens in terms of Functionality, Quality Design, and Value for the End-User.
