Due to the fact that we are under a nation-wide lockdown we are only able to ship out orders to registered essential service providers. This means you are a registered entity with the CIPC and have been issued an essential services certificate by them. Please note that in addition to the above mentioned we are only accepting online orders to be shipped to your door. We are also unable to guarantee any delivery nor accurately forecast processing and delivery times as these are unprecedented conditions.
Orders that are placed before or during this period which do not qualify as essential orders, will be processed and shipped at such time that the lockdown restrictions are relaxed to allow so.
The DIYElectronics team will be working remotely during the lockdown period and we aim to make as many of our typical services available as possible. Our website will be fully operational and we will be working hard to process all essential orders that are placed during this time, our support team will also be available to assist with any technical support as well as our telephonic admin team for relevant queries during this time.
Under level 4 lockdown regulations, we are now able to ship all qualifying products. In order to do so in a safe manner, we are operating with a skeleton staff and are taking strict hygiene precautions in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and South African Government guidelines. All orders will be delivered using a contactless delivery system and no collections will be allowed as per our level 5 terms above.

Online credit card transactions will be acquired for DIYElectornics via Payfast (Pty) Ltd. Payfast have a robust Security & Fraud Prevention by way of Extended Validation SSL with 2048-bit encryption, 3D secure and no credit card details are stored on the website. Customer details will be stored by DIYElectornics seperately from card details which are entered by the client on Payfast's secure site. DIYElectronics takes all reasonable steps to scrutinise all transactions to prevent attempted fraud and a transaction may be refused if we is not satisfied with its legitimacy.
1.8.1 We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made.

DIYElectronics shall accept returned products or refund customers in accordance with Sections 55 and 56 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, Electronics Communications Act No.36 of 2005 and its Returns and Refunds Policy set out below.
* Please note that all returns are to be lodged with our email support division ([email protected]) and will undergo our entire returns procedure as explained below in order to ensure the smoothest well documented returns experience possible.
3.1 Unwanted Products
3.1.1 You can return an unwanted product to us at no charge, provided:
3.2 Defective Products
3.2.1 We do our best to ensure that the products we deliver to you are of a high quality, and in good working order and without defects. Products may not be returned unless the product supplied is either incorrect, unsafe, or the product is damaged or defective upon delivery. A defective product usually means that the goods were manufactured using materials, components or workmanship below an acceptable standard. You must prove that goods are defective. DIYElectronics reserves the right to inspect any goods returned under this clause. On receipt of the returned product DIYElectronics will make all reasonable effort to inspect said product in a timeous manner. DIYElectronics will then exchange the product on condition that:
(i) the product is returned in its original condition - including packaging (with no unnecessary damage), documentation, warranty cards, manuals and accessories and
(ii) the customer returns the product within the below mentioned Standard Warranty period and follows the procedures laid out.
3.2.3 If a refund is necessary such amount will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation, beginning on the day written notice was given.
3.2.4 The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return under section 3.2:
3.2.5 Should any of the conditions in section 3.4 be met we reserve the right to reject the logged return and charge an assessment/restocking fee or alternatively we will charge for repairing the product and returning it to you
4.1.1 We warrant that all our goods are new and of good quality unless we clearly describe them as used or reconditioned or as having specific defects. We offer a six month warranty on all of our products against any defects of normal household or business use in the absence of any form of misuse or negligence or due to the nature of our business modification and self-repair of our products in any form. Where products are not subject to an extended suppliers warranty, we cannot facilitate any returns outside of this 6 month period. If you believe any products to do not meet this above-mentioned standard please follow the below mentioned Returns Procedure to lodge a return.
4.2.1 We cannot offer exchanges, replacements or account credits on any sensitive electronics such as electronic modules and other sensitive devices due to their nature and sensitivity. Electronic modules and sensitive devices that have been opened / used will be assessed on a case by case basis and can only be returned if deemed manufacturing error / fault by our team of support technicians
4.3.1 You must return any goods in new condition with all packaging and materials within 7 days of purchase. We will refund the purchase price of the goods (minus the direct costs of returning the goods) within 30 days of the date of cancellation.
4.4.1 We will repair, replace or refund the price of any goods returned to us during the six-month statutory warranty period, provided they are deemed defective after our assessment. All returns must follow our returns procedure in section 5 below.
4.5.1 Should any returned product under section 3 or 4 meet any of the conditions in section 3.4, if the product is not working correctly due to human error or if the product is simply working correctly and as expected we reserve the right to charge an assessment fee of R150 ex VAT and if necessary a restocking fee.
5.1 Return of unwanted goods
5.1.1 If you wish to return any unwanted goods and you have met the above-mentioned conditions in clause you may do so at your own cost together with your proof of purchase or order reference number. We then reserve the right to inspect the goods. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will credit your account with the purchase price of the product (or refund you if that is your preference) within the required 30 days.
5.2 Return of defective goods
5.2.1 If you wish to return a product under section 3.2 we will require you to log a formal returns request by sending an email to [email protected] stating that you would like to return a product and in the case of a defective product evidence to substantiate your claim. You will then be provided with a Returns Form to fill in which must then be submitted back to us and thereafter a collection will be booked by us for the defective item.
5.2.2 We then reserve the right to inspect all goods returned under section 3.2. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will repair / replace the product (if such repair is possible / we have the same product in stock to use as a replacement) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product (or refund you if that is your preference).
5.2.3 Should we find that the product returned is not indeed defective or falls under section 3.4 above or does not meet the requirements in section 3.2 we reserve the right to revoke your claim or charge you for all repair and freight costs or any missing parts associated with the return.
5.2.4 Should you wish to return a product under section 3 at a brick and mortar store you will be required to fill out all required information in our Returns Form at the store front and one of our agents will aid you in submitting your claim to our support division where the above mentioned returns procedure will then be followed.
6.1 Orders will be shipped within the day of receipt of payment and not later than 2 days and are subject to availability. Delivery time may vary depending on which area items are being delivered to, but typical delivery times are between 2 and 4 working days. Please note that overnight shipping is only possible on these before mentioned working days. We will do our best to deliver your items as timeously as possible but shall not be held liable for any losses or damages of any kind incurred due to late delivery. Items are well packaged and protected. We reserve the right to charge our customers per the pricing structure mentioned in our delivery terms as well as change the pricing structure as we please without warning or consent. Once your package has been sent you will receive an e-mail confirming postal details including tracking and delivery information.

Please note that all customs clearance, duties and fees are to be furnished by the customer and we will not be held liable for any loss or damage incurred in any form resulting from this process.
