The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 is a powerful new compact board that many Makers drool over. However, if you are lucky enough to own a CM4 then you’d quickly notice its distinct lack of interfaces in favour of the small design. Fortunately, plenty CM4 Base Boards are available to provide all the interfaces, ports, and connections you need for your Raspberry Pi project. Most extension boards focus on a few added interfaces for case-to-case solutions while remaining discrete, but the CM4 Dual Gigabit ETH Base Board blows away all concern by integrating a slew of dual ports and multi-interfaces onto one large extension board.
The CM4 Gigabit ETH Base Board uses your Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4’s native gigabit ethernet capability to supply two RJ45 ports while adding a slew of useful peripherals. This strong dual connection to the wider internet opens the possibilities to create IoT and smart devices with your Pi module. Plugging the tiny CM4 board directly onto the larger extension board, Makers can enjoy the plug-n-play additions of varies Pi Accessories. Raspberry Pi’s are commonly referred to as mini computers, but with the CM4 Gigabit ETH Base Board, you could truly build your own Pi computer. Connect two 4K displays using the dual HDMI ports, use the three USB 3.2 ports for a keyboard and mouse, and even connect webcams with the two MIPI CSI-2 camera ports. A Real-time clock is built into the board for a digital timepiece, and more extensions allow you to utilise dual LEDs and install a 5V cooling fan. The large CM4 Gigabit ETH Base Board includes a complete bucket list of ports, interfaces and connectors over its 91.5x109mm surface.
The CM4 Gigabit ETH Board is a great choice for extending your Raspberry Pi’s functionality to the extreme, only overtaken by its larger cousin, the CM4 Dual ETH RS485 Base Board (B). Tinkering with IoT technology, smart home devices, and more ambitious projects will never feel limited again. Any variation of the Compute Module 4 is well-matched with the CM4 Gigabit ETH board, including the CM4 Lite which can use the provided MicroSD card slot for storage.
Please Note: The CM4 Gigabit ETH Base Board (B) is designed to perfectly fit any variation of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, which is unfortunately not available in our stock at this time.

When it comes to producing unique electronics components and modules, there are very few brands that can provide the quality that Waveshare can. Based in the Futian District in Shenzhen, China, Waveshare are experts in developing electronics to a high standard of quality, which have been thoroughly tested to work seamlessly with corresponding development platforms and systems – such as the E-Ink HATs for Raspberry Pi’s.
What we love most about Waveshare is how they are dedicated to providing quality products, and have moved away from the typical “Made in China” stigma – cheap products with cheap parts and components. Instead, Waveshare understand the value of supplying quality products and building sustainable relationships with international resellers and distributors. They know that consistent quality will result in consistent business, and as such they always ensure strict quality control for each and every product that comes out of the manufacturing plant.
We are always excited to peruse through their vast catalogue of exciting new products to find unique modules, components or even entire development boards that are designed with quality in mind. Because we know that every cent that we spend with Waveshare will be well-spent, with each product that order adding real value to our own catalogue of products.
